The term longsword is pretty self-explanatory, it's a sword that's... long. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

I should come up with harder words. It would be a lot of fun to see FKLers try to define words they've never seen before.

It seems fairly manditory to get fellow FKL'ers to start thinking early for *school*...~runs corner starts cutting arms with rusty butterknife~

A longsword is not a sword which can be wielded with 2 hands, but a sword which CANNOT be wielded with 1 hand, due to its weight or size.

He's supposed to be an uber SOLDIER, so he's probably strong enough to hold it in one hand.

He's got broken atp, dood; he's hax, true story.

Jul 27, 2007, 11:23 AM
But does that mean Cloud and his party have even more hax, considering they beat him?

I have seen so called "long swords" though, that are 1 handed.
Buster sword, marasame, Yamigarisu from PSO (come on, that things huuuuuuge)

Yeah, but you couldn't wield a blade that large in one hand in real life, it'd be too damn heavy.

Also by two handed it means you swing it with both hands, you can carry a rifle in one hand, yes? But can you fire it as such? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Yeah, Cloud is hax too, not sure about the others, though.

-TRue Story Behind Sephiroth-
Its been rumoured shrina makes uber soldiers and that they are willing to use them to check for problems within the mako-reactors, they call those people "soldier" they go by ranks.Another rumour is, It seems shinra is trying to make the ultimate "soldier" aparently few people have seen him, they say he has, long silver hair, white shoulder-caps while dressed fully in black, and the sight that puts them in awe, is his sword it aparently is longer then 5-7 feet, they mention the he freely killed a dragon in one hit while holding the sword with one hand. Through these rumours which i have prooved to be true i have to say... SHRINRA IS USEING HACKS!!!!!
The end...

I want a sword like his, for self-defense, and decoration http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Also, do Materia count as hax? It's like "Hey, I have the knowledge of the Ancients on my weapon, now I can cast this huge spell at you!"

Weeaboolits

Shinra's 1337 h4xx0rz, true story.

Materia's not hax ordinarily, but Cloud and Sephi dupe them, so they're hax.

Because you don't hit "Miss" on the slot reels?

Yeah, yeah, we get it. >_>

I still think it's because you don't get "Miss" on the reels.

I have a couple different swords, and so does my stepbrother...

Examples:

LONGSWORD
Full-scale Lord of the Rings sword (Aragorn's) is a 2 handed sword, because I can hold it in one hand, but if I were to try to swing it that way, it's gonna go for a flight. I can swing it two-handedly about as fast as PSU characters can swing a Hanzo.

SWORD
Japanese katana, it's so light that I can hold it in one hand, and swing it, but it is unbalanced to one hand, and I prefer to use two.
Medieval shortsword - Very sharp, and I prefer not to go swinging it around...light enough to wield easily with one hand.

BASTARD SWORD?
Medieval style katana - underneath the grip, the handle is bronze, also there is a bronze decorative intead of the traditional guard between the handle and blade. The reason it is a "Bastard Sword" is because it is too heavy for one hand, but two light for two hands. It takes more skill to use with balance.

A bastard sword is a sword that can be used in one or two hands, but doesn't have a long enough hilt to properly accommodate two hands. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Also longsword is generic term, there are more specific names.

A bastard sword also has a sharp edge on both sides of the blade, right?

NGenerally, but I'm unsure of wether that's actually required for it to be so classed.

360NyTeMaRe
Jul 27, 2007, 11:46 AM
Well, my shortsword technically could be a bastard sword, for the fact that it can be wielded with two hands, if I don't mind putting the spikes at the base of the handle through my hand. I even sharpened the spikes. LOL

Those are easy to weild one-handed, you just have to find your center on the handle.
