I made a video, and apparently my success rate for a PM like mine...

85 Striking
1 Ranging
2 TECH

...is 80% flat. I'm very confident, as long as I don't disconnect. If I disconnect, I'm cancelling the synth to try again later.

I don't understand how it possibly could. Are yoiu saying that if you disconnect without logging off at any point during a synth it fails? Because if so, then it's definitely not true because I've synthed items while my connection was acting up on me and items came out fine.

That's what I've heard and seen, but I can't prove facts wrong, I always make Phantoms, but since I played at my stepbrother's house on a junk connection, I failed all those synths in a row. It's NOT bad luck, trust me.

Well it better not be true, and after this synth, I'm going to do a test (ON CAPTURE CARD) to see if it's true. I'm going to synthesize 10 busters at a time, and then pull my ethernet cable. If all 10 fail, the rumor's true (or at least reasonable to assume).

It's ridiculous to even think that it would affect it. Why would it? That would be completely retarded.

Synthing is just broken. I've synthed Pallaschs for PM food and I've failed 3 in a row at 94%, when I did not disconnect. I've disconnected plenty of itmes synthing things due to the bad connection I sometimes get late at night and items have come out just fine of all types.

Something else to add, if I'm not mistaken Phantoms are 49% chance even with a 100 RNG PM, so the odds are NOT in your favor for either of them. You're either full of it on the itesms you failed in a row, or just have terrible luck. It's either 100% or it's not. Something like this would have no "in-between" and since it's been proven wrong already....

man it happens. when A grinders first came out I put 32 ulteri boards in my PM. that's potentially 96 ulteris with a 50% success rate. so figure around 48 will come out right? try 20.

then there are days where my synths just don't fail...days where I get multiple 50s on melee weapons (it only happened once, don't look at me like that) and so on. like I just attempted 9 Alterics over 3 boards with about 60% chance of success...yet I only failed one alteric. and theer will be days where I can't synth an alteric to save my account.

Also I don't care what you think about how low the success rate on armor is, 9* armor has a 37% chance of success...of 16 attempts, you should get about 5-6. not one. she was unlucky too.

There is a chance for anything to happen. Just because you failed so many weapons in a row doesn't mean there's something against you. When you synth, you accept the fact that there is a chance that it will fail. There is NO guarentee that you are destined to succeed a synth after x number of times of synthing.

Think of it this way... its like winning the lottery except the prize is bad. You won the shitty prize.

I think that the "interrupt request synth failure" rumor is true, because I got an interrupt request about 6x every day during the week. Internet's fixed now.

Back in January someone I know on the PC/PS2 servers did some testing on [B]. They tried to change the %'s and also change it if it failed. So what he discovered was that...No matter what he did he could NOT change the fact that it will always fail. Why? Its because once you insert the materials into the PM and start the synth there is NOTHING you can do to change it if its going to fail or work.

It goes like this.

Insert Materials
"are you sure you want to synth?" Yes or No
As soon as you hit yes the PM decides if its going to fail or not.
Now what your PM does is make you waste a bunch of hours to piss you off because it already knows if its going to fail or not.

Get disconnected a bunch of times. Stay online all day. Feed it all you want. Synth all you want. Get it killed by megid all you want.

NOTHING will change the fact that it will fail or work as soon as you hit that "YES" button no matter what happens during those 24 hours or whatever time you need to wait.
