I turned my sound off. The music did no go with the video at all. And didn't that video come with the current openning song, "who says we are lost again", originally? which means someone changed it to completely suck, wow...

And yes, we did get a watered down version of PSU, it's just a lead in to AoI, but it's alot better than the shit in that video. Four characters in total, the character designs look worse, and the weapons look alot less sexy. I think i speak for the entire PSU population when i say thank god they improved on it.

The dramatic decrease in the PS2/PC version of PSU, was mostly due to people being frustrated over hackers... Not because PSU gets bland

To be fair, what gaming company would not want their game to be successful? What company doesn't hype their own games? Unless the reason was financial, Im really curious what you may say.

Also PSU's dramatic population decrease also attributes to other factors other than "dramatic advertising".

well, the last time I worked for a game company's ad dept. we always tried to focus on the most boring and tedious parts of the game. For instance in PSU I would've made a 24 hour video documenting the grueling waiting period for an armor synth, laced with plenty'o Kenny G musak.


Notice the muzak part? Now THAT's what kids wanna see in a video game. Not action scenes or dramatic CG sequences.

I think I prefer playing PSU over playing concept art shots and cutscenes too. And yeah, some parts of those combos might seem pretty cool, but I could bet as well that a lot of the 'uber' animations we have now didn't even really exist at that time. In fact, they may even be the initial form of a later finalized combo, so it exists anyways.

What was on the video is more "Phantasy Star" than what I've seen so far on PSU. I guess I'll just have to wait even longer until the game becomes more developed to know for sure if Sega's just running together a bunch of stereotypes, or if they're actually going somewhere.
