Crashing? Is that like you're on a high from something? >_>

Sord

it can be that, but it's also attributed to when you feel hyper and then suddenly get really tired

Oookay.

Wait, Sord is tired? At 9:15 PM (his time)!? It's the apocalypse!

Sord

I'll probably recover soon enough, I allmost always get a sceond wind around 10, but if I go to sleep before then, I risk waking up at 11 for some reason. Even though I stayed on schedule most all of last school year and part of the summer (due to internship) my body still prefers to be up at night, not day. I don't really know why. I'll probably wind up with a graveyard shift job if it keeps up.

very funny http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

even though my second favorite anime is about vampires, I'm not into the sub-culture of them in the least. though as usual I probably know more about it then I should : /

Haha, sorry Sord. And in a completely unrelated matter, I didn't utterly suck at bowling today.

Sord
Jul 30, 2007, 09:20 PM
that's cool, I should really get my Dexter's Lab one drilled. Used to be in a Cartoon Network sponsored league.

Tact
Jul 30, 2007, 09:20 PM
It may be too light for you, though. Depending on how long ago you were in that league.

Sord
Jul 30, 2007, 09:23 PM
it's a 16 pound ball, I've always used the heavier ones. I don't throw curves either, but I've still gotten turkeys a few times.

Tact
Jul 30, 2007, 09:24 PM
Hey, I don't throw a curve either, and I got four in a row this evening.

And, uh, 16 pounds...yeah, that's not too light. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I play with 18 if i can get holes that fit my fingers. That's what really annoys me, none of the sizes I use (16 and 18) have holes that properly fit my fingers the majority of the time.

Tact
Jul 30, 2007, 09:30 PM
O_o Since when were 18-pound bowling balls considered regulation?

Sord
Jul 30, 2007, 09:32 PM
they're not? weird, we have em. Usually bowling allys around here carry about 10 of them out of all their sizes.

Tact
Jul 30, 2007, 09:34 PM
Heh, I wonder if they even know 18-pounders aren't regulation.

Unless they changed it...

Sord
Jul 30, 2007, 09:35 PM
who sets the regulation rules?

Tact
Jul 30, 2007, 09:38 PM
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowling_ball

"Regulation ten-pin bowling balls must weigh no more than 16 pounds (7.2 kg) (governing bodies do not regulate how light a bowling ball may be) and have a diameter of 8.5 inches (21.6 cm)."

Sord
Jul 30, 2007, 09:40 PM
yeah, just looked at that myself. anyways, I didn't start using them till after the league (only did one season or whatever.) Maybe that's why all the 18lbs are black, meaning they can't be used in a league match or something. The league was a long time ago, I think the summer between my middle school and highschool. I'm gonna be a senior this year, so that gives you an idea of how long it's been since I played any league matches.

Tact
Jul 30, 2007, 09:42 PM
You know, the thing about having no limit to how light the ball can be intrigues me.

I wonder how fast I can throw, say, a 4-pounder. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Weeaboolits
Jul 30, 2007, 09:44 PM
1lb!

Sord
Jul 30, 2007, 09:45 PM
I did that half way through a bad game once. Got tired of it, went "fuck it" and started rolling the light ones down as fast as possable for the hell of it. Made some loud bangs when I managed to hit the pins (at this point I didn't care much about aim.)

Tact
Jul 30, 2007, 09:46 PM
You know, I wonder if that's even possible.

A ball that light would probably break upon impact with the pins. Wikipedia says bowling pins weigh anything from 3 pounds, 6 ounces to 3 pounds, 10 ounces. You'd have to throw it pretty fast to have any hope of generating the required momentum to knock the pins down.

Sord

I want to say I've seen a 2 pounder for tykes. I don't think our bowling allys like regulations http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif , they are always marked with even numbers, never seen an odd one or any ounces either

anyways, I was used to rolling 16 lb balls at the time, so it's not like it was that hard to lob a light one down at fast speeds.

Odd-numbered balls are fine, I've had a 13-pounder for a while.

Sord

there really aren't many leagues around here I think, definitly not any big ones that I know of. Bowling is usually seens as a family thing, for birthday parties, or a hangout for the most part around here.

I would make a joke about drugs right now, but I don't think I'm going to go through with it. And no, I was not going to accuse Sord of being a druggie.

When it comes to those giant peices in boxes, I hate that crap. I hate the look of it. I hate the feel of it. I hate the sound it makes. I won't even touch the stuff if I can avoid it. Pellets, cups, and the airplanes are fine, but I loathe the damn packaging styrofoam.

I've heard of some pretty bad misuses of a computer, normally by old people. Both the poptart one and this current one are true stories. Another is thinking the mouse was the power button, you stepped on the mouse to turn the computer on, like you would a pedal on the spinning wheel.
