Hmm If there are any new players wondering what has been going on and how PSU got to where it is today,
this is the rough PSU PS2/PC history:

In the beginning people had green weapons and did not grind anything, Parum East, Neudais Agata Island, Moatoob was yet to be opened. The level cap back then was level 50. The first few months of the release of PSU

everyone spammed De ragan and most party comments read: no scapes = boot . everyone was at raffon.

Players were pissed that the October lobby (Halloween )was not placed in during the time so no Jacklantern rod or etc. for everyone. a few Jaclantern rods were later hacked and some people still have one.

God item at the time Me/ Quick

Shops were fun to run, materials were selling well
Marseline and Nanocarbon were hot
Rappy feathers were 1-4k deragan tails 5-9k
photons were not hot

Our first lobby event was for Christmas, where we recieved Santa rappies aka Rappy Noel. The main known thing to drop were Christmas Trees and Reefs
Crea Doubles were a myth

Kohibiteri(sp?) Bow was during Valentines where it was still unknown if it was an actual drop or hack during the time.

Hacking started, all good items like sori senbas were bought out by hackers.
After good stuff sold out pretty much any junk sold for 99 mil. This was the period of infinite cash flow.
Amateur money dupers bought anything even
[B] deljabaner for 99 mil.

some people quit

Golden age of mass synthing begins, people use the cash to synth full PMs of stuff to get the 50% weapons and armors
photons bocome HOT

God item Har / Quick could be sold for 9 stacks of 99 mil at the time

S weapons are mass hacked and given out:
Crea Doubles. Rucars, Halarods being most common
Hackers trade S weapons for units, could get 4 S weapons for allmost any unit since units were not hacked.

All fun of getting rare stuff seemed lost untill the Sega seasnake finally strikes and bans most hackers and takers of unreleased weapons.

Allmost no hacking but everyones loaded so 30% weapons still can sell for 99 mil

Time goes by people level up and keep synthing
with no stacks of fresh cash coming people start selling some unwanted 50% for 99 mil to keep synting

Friends of banned hackers have stashes of unremoved S ranks which are now traded for weapons and cash

Cash is being burned up fast, S weapons appear in shops.

God item Ank Dedda, Blackbull.

Valentines event begins and the mass killing of Rappy
the great Halp Serafi dagger hunt begins
Halp serafi hunting started during Easter where the best possible place to hunt rappies during that time was Linear Line and Mad Creatures

People started wearing green... That's because of St. Patrick's day

With new missions new S ranks arrive and old S rank are traded for new ones for the shiny factor

Ban photons are hoarded in stacks, and sold for 20k+ each
Firebreak event begins, everyones at seabed hunting stuff

Sonic's Birthday and appearance on US servers.

Deragan S2 and Sleeping Warriors S2 is released

God item PSYCHO WAND

Guess thats where we are today, most people are poor and looking for that S board that will solve their problems. Shop prices go up from fear of being poor.

Its 3 am and im really sleepy so may have forgot alot. Feel free to add more key points and timeline stories to make a complete PSU history

corrections and additions welcome

The item was Soldonium, used to be the most expensive mat lol.

Yes, photons used to sell for 10 meseta, 100 meseta being an iffy price. Kubara wood used to sell for less than 400 meseta as well.

I would change the period before the hackers to the golden age, the period with the hackers as the dark ages, and the period when the expansion was announced as the modern age.

That and Nanocarbon. Both used to sell for prices comparable to what photons are being sold for now. Once they were put in NPC shops, things changed fast, and they were my primary source of income(I priced under NPC and Soldonium can be created through endless conversion at the cost of tiny meseta >_>).

Back when everyone started, the best armor you could get was an 18k Ageha-Senba bought mainly from store shelves.

Parum East, Neudais Agata Island, Moatoob was yet to be opened.

The level cap back then was level 50. The first few months of the release of PSU.

Most players still didn't understand Synthing items nor did players understood elemental weapons.

Players were pissed that the October lobby (Halloween )was not placed in during the time so no Jacklantern rod or etc. for everyone.

During Mid November, the third planet released online. Moatoob.

Our first lobby event was for Christmas, where we recieved Santa rappies aka Rappy Noel. The main known thing to drop were Christmas Trees and Reefs.

No one knew but, if you watched the first floor of Clyze city during New Years Eve, once it struck 12, the center will explode into a Happy New Year sign. No update needed. Also there was a giant cake out in Neudais.

Kohibiteri(sp?) Bow was during Valentines where it was still unknown if it was an actual drop or hack during the time.

We finally get new photon Arts *up to 22* from Guardian Colonies across the universe.

Halp serafi hunting started during Easter where the best possible place to hunt rappies during that time was Linear Line and Mad Creatures.

People started wearing green... That's because of St. Patrick's day.

... FireBreak....
Sonichi Jaggos.

Sonic's Birthday and appearance on US servers.

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif Use these to add into your timeline... I'm sure they'll fit somewhere.

Before US launch, Japan

Day 1 Sega sells out of PSU not once but twice. a 3rd set of disks needs to be printed. Servers come online but quickly a problem is realized with people not being able to go into My Room.

Servers shut down after a little time.

Servers come back up, and sega creates World 2, a completely restarted server, players now have 8 character slots but 4 can not cross over to the other 4.

Anyone want to fill this in a little more?

You forgot about the late-November (the week that Moatoob was released) scare with hackers PM bombing and stealing. This was a few weeks before the mass meseta influx, which really took off mid-December with all of the eBay auctions (oh how tempted I was...). While exciting, because it gave us a look at what was to come (weapon wise), it was also dismal, because we knew that the hackers were ruining the game with dumping billions upon billions of meseta into the delicate economy (not to mention, the PM bombing). If it were just the hacked weapons, I'd say "Bah!", but the meseta really hurt, and the effects are still seen 8 months later.

Oh, and remember how long it took to save up 15k to open a shop? I was soooo excited when I was able to pop one up. Take it from a Day One-er (number 20000951, which is the lowest number I have personally seen), it has been a wild, crazy ride.

My number is 20000801 http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif It has been pretty crazy. I remember the whole Broomop scares and all, seeing his videos and whatnot. I even remember that you can't say his name on the sega forums. They censored it and it comes out as "nub" now I think. There's not too many from Launch still hanging around. I only know a select few who actually are still around.

Don't forget to add that the east coast of the US couldn't get PSU until day 2 because of a problem with the vendors and GameStop.

Also (I don't know the date) the first SEGA held event when you could meet the GMs. I remember I went to Holtes on Parum Uni01 and everyone was spamming:

"OMG HAXX!! RUN YOU'LL GET HACKED!!!!"
"SEGA SUX THERE'S NO GMS HERE!"
"Where are the GM's?!"

Love,
Fox Makenshi

Mizuraki Defense S was the first S mission that was spammed for mission points heavily and for a lot of us, including myself, it's that mission that got people level 10 in thier first advance jobs. There also was'nt any missions available at the time that gave 50 mission points.

Sori-Senba the most expensive sought after armor, topping at about 1-2mil - this was before it was available for purchase in the NPC shop.

The absolute highest the PC/PS2 servers have been at was Uni1 and Uni2 full and Uni3 with 3 1/2 stars. This lasted til early december.

Newman females seemed like they got luck 3 almost everyday. Human males went about 2 months before getting luck 3, Uni15 our occasionally deserted "official" uni was at 2 stars.

From US/EU release to December 23/26th(any of the two; I forget) we and the JP players shared the same luck trend. We knew what our luck was going to be before them though because of the time difference - we are a day ahead of JP. Some say this is why it was changed.

All missions accross the board were spammed in the beginning. It can be said that with the introduction of high MP missions was actually a bad idea because missions with low rewards were neglected fast. IMO that plays a key part in PC/PS2 low population.

At the 50cap the most challenging mission was Desert of Terror A.

I forgot about the toilet fairy! I think my shop character's still has his "gift" on display!

Also, I think you forgot to mention that there were no SUVs or Nanoblasts available until much later (was it with the Moatoob update?).

Here are the dates:
11/17 - Moatoob update (access granted) - gave us System Defense, Desert Terror, VoC, Mine Defense, as well as some for Neudaiz and Parum, though I forget which.

12/8 - Christmas Update - gave us lobby theme, New Classes (other than Hunter, Ranger, and Force), A ranked weapons, level cap to 60, (skills to 30 with expert classes), new weapons (claw, twin claw, grenade launcher, axe, laser, card, cross bow and double saber -- I think that's all of them), and the first S rank missions (I think), which were the LL ones on the GC.

12/15 - S Rank Missions: Mad Creatures, Mine Defense, VoC, Mizuraki Defense, and Demons Above.

The Toilet Fairy was a great part of PSU history. I still have my Cosmo Fountain left by the fairy. I don't know if the (copy-cat styled) Vanda Porn Fairy should be mentioned, noted or covered up.

The present time of PC/PS2 should be called "the Great Divide"

Everyone is spread out finding those rare boards, from Demons Above to Grove to Lake G. I like it, lots of parties in different places.

Of course I'm spamming Grove, but once I'm burnt out I'll freely travel.

staks of 99 could be paid for a har in those days there would have to be some trust though, but its not that far fetched. Yes I remember a toilet fairy visit myself one night, and a great story to go with that.

Good input by todays posters, I will add to the timeline tomorrow. its really late tonight again.
