PSU online story mode

I'll be getting PSU for the xbox 360 in christmas because I don't want to set up internet for my ps2 version. I wish that sega offered pre-paid cards for the damn game. Even the Japanese don't have them I think. My question is that will the data from the offline story mode be transferred to the online story mode including your lvl, stats, and weapons?

I dont wanna buy a linksys adapter because i mainly use wirless networking at my house, though it doesn't run fast and plus my ps2 is not close to where the networking and cables are
