I mean, as compared to PSO 1 and 2.

And, which is usually considered better?

Thanks, I am interested in getting PSU for PS2, or getting an online broadband adapter for my gamecube so I can play PSO online.

ughhh 3 stars easy for pc/ps2 version of ps2. A good buy if your a fan of the series now that most of the content is out now.

The expansion is coming out soon which is basically fine tuning what many hated in PSU and a revamp of everything from PSO. The Remake the levels is awsome.

For the record i didnt know that the PSO servers were still up aside from BB.

I thought the community had set up some servers.

Would it be better to wait for the expansion? Or should I buy both?

And to the OP, your better off getting PSU now, so you can start on your character http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

PC/PS2 probably has about 1000-1250 active players. Of course, they're not all on at once.

The only version of PSO I played was BB, where the population was around 100-350 during its heyday.

There are more of us than the current well known PSO private server. And I can't give you any information on it. But it tops around 310-322 players. PC/PS2 is alot more than that.

There hasn't been an online varient of Phantasy Star that has been able to beat out DCPSO version 1's population, which was 10,000+ players. PSOGC never saw that many, and neither will US/EU PSU.

Universe 2 is not always full, but at peak times it is, plus up to four stars on Universe 3, and Universe 16 has one. If you count all the people scattered across the other Universes (there's a bunch of elitists on Universe 15 who always lock their games), we can probably gather another star, so maybe at the maximum we get to 2300 people. At low ebb, around 500 people will be around.

Now, of those 2.5k, 2000 will be spamming the same boring missions because they don't like to actually work for their rewards (witness FireBreak), 250 will be people with rooms locked looking for rarz, 200 will be kiddies raised by South Park spamming the lobbies with their "leet chatting skills", 28 will be scammers, 18 will be witless do-gooders wasting their time trying to teach the 200 kiddies how to play, and 2 will be running around "promoting" their meseta-selling site.

The 360 population, it is not pretty.

Actually, from about 10am EST - 1am EST, uni 1 and 2 are almost always filled, no matter what. At peak time we have anywhere from 1-4 stars full on uni 3 and if there's a big occassion then uni 4 might get a couple stars. And of course there is uni 16 with anywhere from 1-3 stars full. Then there are many random people on random universes. I would say anywhere from 10-40 random ppl on each universe.

So my guess is that any time between 10am and 1am, there are anywhere from 2200-3200 people.

Pc/ps2 is now down to a max of 3 full stars not 4.

There are currently somewhere between 600 to 1000 people online at any given time on the PSU PS2 servers. The PSO servers for Gamecube were shut down several months ago. Oddly enough, I bet more people would be playing PSO GC than PSU if it was still up.

That's not true. PSOGC was alive and running when PSU was released. Remember the servers were shutdown April 1 of this year. Anyway PSOGC was dead on the official servers. Got it? DEAD. Nodda, ZIP. Maybe 60 JP players at any given time and 4 US players. But it was DEAD. PSU was having 2 full uni's and crap.

Did I make my previous post for nothing or something?

r u sure? I could've sworn I saw psu id numbers in the 60 thousands. Now unless my math is wrong 60K>10K?

That's number of players online at one time, not total registered accounts.

What were the numbers over on Xbox PSO? And are its servers still up?
