I have a question that needs to be immedietly answered!

I know this is in the wrong forum, but since I need an answer right away I need to know! This literally means a good or bad christmas. Ok see I just bought a Sony 2.0 Megapixel 2x Optical/3x Digital Zoom Digital Camera. It comes with 2 Rechargeble NiMH Batteries. Now I put them on the charger thing, and they have been charging for 9 hours, and they still havent been completed. Is it suppose to take a while or what?

it is typical that new batteries must be charged for a long time the first time they are charged. Cordless phones are supposed to charge for a full 12 hours

Charging things works like this I think.
The first time you charge something, however long you charge it for is set to be the maximum of its charge capacity.(not exceding full charge). Dont worry about it, you still have the 24th to let it charge http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif.
