View Full Version : TORNADO WARNING!!

AlexCraig

We just had a Tornado Warning here. david and I got the cats, headed for the crawlspace, and covered up. It is over now, but for the first time in years, I was scared for my life.

According to the Weather Channel said a funnel cloud was spotted and heading through Sleepy Hollow, West Dundee, the Carpentersville. The only way I'd have known was when my mom called and told me to get David and the cats to the crawlspace.

I need a breather. My heart is still pounding.

I've never been afraid of tornadoes, and we've had some fairly close to us on multiple occasions. Then again, I have a really weird thing for it, I smile more during real drills, while everyone else tends to look worried. I dunno, just weird I guess.

I would laugh and smile if it were a watch or a severe thunderstorm, but a Tornado Warning that specifically names my hometown scares me.

I want to see a tornado live in action some time.
Preferably from a distance.

That's the Tornado Kick Mon!

Glad everyone's safe.

Now to have a revelation and stop worrying about R-97-3 and his RP as a woman and thus kissing Envy, and all is well. <-Optional I guess but recommended.

one time we got one in school, and it was supposed to be heading right for of us. A kid across the hallway actually started crying, and there I was, smiling. That was 6th grade. I found the whole incident rather amusing.

School... I am no longer in it, but when I was, I could care less. Now that I am out (and have a job) I don't want my house to be destroyed, or me killed (especially since I just got a job).

I've always had a fascination with storms of all kinds..I always feel a bit excited when there's an imminent storm. The excitement fades when the electricity gets knocked off though, replaced with a sour feeling of annoyance.

I love storms, there's no doubt about that. I love thunderstorms and severe thunderstorms. But a life threatening force of nature shakes me up and grasp hold of the now.

One time, during one of the larger hurricanes I've lived through, I was looking out through a visor slit on the door. We were out visiting some friends on the countryside. Even though it was rather dark outside, I could still see something in the distant darkness thanks to the lighting around the outside of the house. And just seconds later, I could make it out to be a small bicycle which came crashing into the very door I stood behind.
That shaked me up pretty nicely.

I take it that the vid was supposed to be your testament to the rest of us, should you have not made it out alive? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Something like that. I have 3 more, but my PB does not want to upload them. I'll try again.

I think it mostly went north of you, Sord. You are in St. Louis, I am near Chicago. The weather came from the northwest.

*Video sound not working. Damn*
Here is the third video. Apparently, the one of me going outside into the bad weather does not want to load.

Saw this on the Weather Channel and, sadly, I actually thought hey, sounds like that's around where AlexCraig lives I hope he dies. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/caterpillar.gif http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/cruller.gif http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/burger.gif

The waters part over my hometown, fortunately.

In the third vid, I was watching the weather report on WeatherScan, and all of a sudden the screen goes black, says the official "Tornado Warning" from the weather center. I see this and, "Oh hell! That's the official 'get the hell to the crawlspace' sign!" http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

In my home city (from which I moved recently) which is in Republic of Poland, Eastern Europe, we had huge, I mean huge storm every 3 - 1 years...

And they're getting worse every year....
I once thought that it's fun..... until HUGE tree nearly rammed house which we were living in....

Luckily it stopped on small metal fence...

This weather is getting really ugly nowdays....

(btw I hope Your cats are okay Alex)

I'm in NYC and it behaved like a good Tornado with it's narrow reach. Only one perosn died but not because of the F2.

AlexCraig
Aug 9, 2007, 09:01 PM
I haven't heard all the details of it, or the one that came out here.
