View Full Version : What will the remaining Ultimate Techs be?

Does anyone know off hand what the rest of the techs are that will be included when we get the ultimate PA update?

I know "all of them" might be a compelling response, but I only ask because I've heard on numerous occasions that there are plans not to release certain techs at all for online play. The tech that casts the three rings of defense is a good example; I've heard many rumours that it's too "cheap" or "exploitable" and thus ST was considering to keep it offline-only. I also heard the same for that Damugrants tech, although how it's any different from the other damu techs is beyond me.

So does anyone have a list of the Ult Techs we're supposed to get? Is it going to be all of them?

I guess a force could just spam the barriers and keep everyone invincible for quite a while.

What's wrong with that?

I thought barriers didn't overwrite anyway. Did anyone here use them offline?

I used the often offline. I would think they are going to be expensive and slow to level online but I could be wrong. Offline you could use both Dizas and Rentis at the same time. I would think that Dizas and Rentis would be different colors since they are ground and light based.

The online pp consumption could crazily high for online use and maybe shortening its duration, I guess that could balance it out.

I would be surprised if it were a Maya only thing to be able to use the barriers. Offline you can cast both of them. The barrier alternates color between orange and blue. As they get diactivated it only shows one color or the other.

As for megistar, even tho it subtracts hp when you cast it I would laugh my ass off if all of the forces decided to use it exclusively and screw over all of the hunters for buffs. It a great PA if you plan to solo alot and don't have PA space for all four buffs.

it sounds like a good PA for guntechers and wartechers and in the future like a great PA for acrotechers

In other words, it's great for WT, AT, and GT...right? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Could you recast 1, 2, or 3 rings -> 3 (overwrite like buffs), or did you have to wait until no rings remained before recasting (no overwrite)?

My hunch is that they're probably saving stuff for AoI. I wouldn't be surprised if the new tech class (AT) were unavailable at the time of release, too. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif

Any info on PA requirement for megistar?

Yeah, I mean they already took away the death penalty, why not give us the barriers? Then we could REALLY be invincible!

I translate that jumbled mess as to say that these techs are being adjusted to be time based. I would assume that if you get hit three times before the time runs out that you would still lose it.

I still feel giving these techs will take away more of the challenge online, but I guess that's just me.

it means the barriers only affect the person who casted em. in other words, they work the same as megistar. i just tested this and maya's dizas only affected her, even tho i was standing rite on top of her when she casted it.

this pretty much confirms that the barriers will be released online. but thx to this nerf, they wont be overpowered.

Unless its a JP only fix for now, Maya's Dizas and 452s Rentis still work on other people.

Actually retnis and dizas last for a period of time, so everytime they are re-cast the time will start from the beginning. In other words it can beleveled exactly like buffs are leveled now. PP consumption might not be very favorable.

For megistar i think it would be most effective for GT or WT. Sice WT only gets levell 20 buffs, it's not worth carrying all four buffs around. And GT uses aot of PA space for guns leaving room for a limited amount of support techinques. Since it's one of the best soloing classes, casting on others shouldn't be too much of a concern. AT is more tech based that melee and with level 40 buffs it'd be nice if they could share.

That's not true. When Maya (my trainer) casts it, it certainly does apply to the player characters standing within range. Furthermore, when my GH452 casts the tech barrier, it too applies to all the player characters standing within range. I've "solo'd" and partied with others with them both and individually . The barriers apply to anyone within range but don't think they'll be overpowered in any way. Soon we'll be hunting lvl 150+ monsters. Barriers would merely only even the odds a bit. Unless u plan on playing today's current S2 missions when you're lvl 150+, overpowered is prolly not the best term to describe them.

Please forgive me if someone else responded. I am short on time this morning.

Offline or even online (Maya and your tech PM) the techs and be cast over the others. So if you were down to one ring after a few hits it could be "charged" back to 3. I assume that from 1-10 you get one, 11-20 Two and 21+ 3 rings. Tech PMs tend to have their Techs at 21+ from lightning and the buffs she uses.

I agree with you in that I think these will be out for the expansion.
