PSU 1st Anniversary Thanks Festa (http://phantasystaruniverse.jp/event/1st/)

The JP version of PSU will be holding a special event commemorating the game's first anniversary! New missions will be added during the run of the event and there will even be an art contest. Submissions are being accepted right now (until August 30) for pieces of artwork based on your past year with the game. Winning pieces will be displayed on billboards in each of the city lobbies and trophies will be awarded to runners-up.

I'll have more information on this event as it becomes available.

Hmm interesting you sure it says new missions will be added? All I can see is where they plan on putting up the user made posters up.

Positive. It specifically says "special missions will be added" in the blue box in the upper left hand corner of the page.

At least we will be able to see the designs in the internet because I doubt our servers are getting them -.-

I'm still not sure, seems to me the 'mission' is getting people to submit psu themed jpgs to be made into ingame posters.

OK.

Tokubetsu mission no haishinshimasu ya campaign nado moridaku

tokubetsu, adjective - special
no, particle - shows possession of something (similar to 's in English)
haishinshimasu, verb - to transmit or deliver
ya, particle - and (used to list a series of objects)
nado, particle - et cetera (generally used in conjunction with ya or to)
moridaku, verb - to server or present with something

Use of the article ya indicates a list of items which will be given during the event. In this case, tokubetsu mission (special missions) and a campaign (the art contest), while nado (etc.) implies there will be more than this. The art contest is not a mission. In fact, submission of pieces takes place outside of the game, so why would a mission have to be initiated for that purpose?

Yeah provably we will get some king of party and maybe the missions, but just look at the pso jp drawing contests and look at the fan art here (no offence, there are great artists here but lots of Japanese contestants are/look almost professional)

Another example: PSOBB Maximum attack
JP server: a wallpaper drawn of the winers
US/EU server: a wallpaper with screenshots of the winers...

I think I need to talk to Mr. Walker about his artwork of me and have it submitted. Because honestly, who wouldn't want to see this all over Gurhal:

My reaction as well to the pic of Parn. That illustration is as scary and creepy to me as Carebares and Clowns...

Sheer creepy-ness is more like it. Anyways Dr. Tran > Parn.

The Festa sounds cool though.

LOL that really is a very good drawing http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

By the way, I don't think there is any new information but Gamewatch has posted the official event drawing in better resolution http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Watch that picture get put up as a billboard and the male population will suddenly start driving on the other side of the road (so to say).

The PSU poster above is adorable in all it's chibi-ness. So cute.

Parn, you should really have him submit that to the contest. That is seriously quality work there.

LMAO! XD XD XD

Parn, you're too much...

I like the sound of this event, but $10 says it's just something else that will start up another "SEGA loves JP more than us" debate. I would submit something though... if I could draw.
