A while ago I beat story mode, and have since gone online to beat that story mode (all by my lonesome ;_;). Anyways, they have said that in the expansion your character will be the 'hero', so will they have cutscenes with your character? Will they have voice sets (I didnt understand why they didnt have cutscenes with voice acting in the online story mode. they could of done it, but it would of been very expensive)?

Oh, and just to make sure, you can only play online story mode by yourself right?

In AoI's offline story, you'll be creating a character to play the role of Laia's trainee in the story. That probably sounds familiar, seeing as AoI's offline story is greatly in part, the online story of PSU now. You'll probably be involed in cutscenes that use the game engine (plus, you'll have some dialogue choices to make), but you're SOL on the FMV.

And yes, online story mode is single player onry.

That sounds a little lazy, Team Sonic.

And that sucks that online story mode is 1 player only. Especially since I'm a force... Makes it difficult when your partners have to be close enough to smell the enemies breath before attacking.

I assume this was not done as they did not have a voice actor for Laia. She did not appear in the offline story, and the actors for that were probably recorded before they decided to add the online story mode. It would've been expensive to try and get back all the voice actors from the offline story to record new lines AND have to hire someone to be Laia, etc. It was probably easier to just use text for this.

It's easier for a force to solo than a hunter, though I'll admit we don't die as much. Let's take that mission where you have to fight hundreds of robots as an example.

No, because the story mode is not why people play the game, its the ONLINE mode

Well, I personally enjoyed the story mode very much.

I think every number in the above calculation is incorrect.

indeed it is. It's $10 a month, and a total of around 3400 (360 and Us PC/PS2, thats just off memory though, not exactly sure how many 360 people there are). That makes $34,000 a month.

Neither Lumia nor Laia, alas. You make your own character.

Maybe it should've been rephrased as "Who are the main characters in AOI" since there is a good chance that you play along events with Laia as a third person.

Has nothing to do with laziness. Has everything to do with the fact that the majority of people who buy Phantasy Star games do NOT play them online. It was the reason why Phantasy Star Universe has a story mode... most people who bought Phantasy Star Online never went online with it.

And since they're making an elaborate storyline, the only way they can deliver it to offline players is by the method they're doing. In the meantime, we get Episode III early in pieces like we did Episode II.
