You're lucky,Alex. You gots all the trees and nice weather. All I got is bushes and nelt-your-face-till-your-brains-show weather.
Did you get a wax hand?

AlexCraig
Aug 13, 2007, 12:45 PM
We had excruciatingly hot weather. We did have trees, but I was wandering a lot, so I got quickly dehydrated. I mentioned it in a couple of videos I took.

No, I did not get a wax hand. I am more for other things, like weapons, clothing, books, some jewelery, and trinkets.

EDIT: Finally, the Scottish Dance video uploaded.

Edit: As Link, you had to be very quiet, too. No real words. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif Did you go with the whole "silent protagonist" deal?

That heart pendant looks like one of those heart containers you get after killing a boss. Maybe it'd be more fitting if you didn't buy it, but rather, killed the merchant and pick it up from his corpse?

Also, dealing with what you said about the Scottish Dance: Should I ever see Link (or anyone dressed up as him, for that matter) doing that, I will promptly toss a cooked grenade at him and shout, "Good day, sir. Will you kindly get the fuck back to killing thine monsters and saving a damsel in distress? Or would you, perhaps, rather me shove the Biggoron's Sword up your sphincter?"

Lucky for you, I didn't see the video. >8U

Aug 13, 2007, 01:10 PM
Hey now, just because the games set a scenario of danger in Hyrule, it does not mean that Hyrule is in trouble 24/7 365. The games, in general, take up maybe a week or so at best should you play right through.

As for killing people, Link would have no reason to. He is a hero, not a villain.

As for trying to kill Link for dancing and having a good time, why? Is that something against your ideals? Or do you just hate Link? In any case, that is really not a good thing to say to one whom is obsessed with TLOZ. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_mad.gif

Ma_Navu
Aug 13, 2007, 01:14 PM
Scottish Dance + Link = WTF?
That is why I say "No Scottish dancing for Link."

Although Link is a hero, in LoZ: Link's Awakening, you could steal from the local shop (although the NPC's will always call you "Thief" and, if you go back to the shop, the merchant will murder you). Just because he's the hero doesn't mean he's exempt from evil deeds. =D

Almighty_Envy
Aug 13, 2007, 01:14 PM
I wouldnt be able to hold a sword, i would stab people.

AlexCraig
Aug 13, 2007, 01:17 PM
You don't HAVE to steal, that's the thing. It is just some random thing the creators put in because they knew people would try to do things like that. If you play and DON'T steal, then you really don't have an arguement here.

Ma_Navu
Aug 13, 2007, 01:21 PM
Here's my argument: you have the choice to do evil deeds. You can steal from the merchant, you can attack the cucko's (or whatever they're called). You CAN be evil, although very few times. All I'm saying is, I would'a cut down the merchant as my only evil deed of the "game." And if I came back to the shop, I'd be arrested and murdered after a few years in prison. =D

AlexCraig
Aug 13, 2007, 01:22 PM
Let's drop the Zelda arguing. This thread is about my day at Ren Fair, not good and evil in Zelda.

Ma_Navu
Aug 13, 2007, 01:26 PM
So you've given up? Hah, I win! =P

Seriously though, was that sword actually real? Back ten years ago when I went as a kid, they only allowed wooden swords.

Otis_Kat
Aug 13, 2007, 01:27 PM
Where art thy going with mine sword?! Have at thee!

AlexCraig
Aug 13, 2007, 01:28 PM
I gave up because I don't like arguing, especially about Zelda, a game I actually study inside and out.

But yeah, it is a replica of the Ordon Sword. I have five others here at home. But I felt that one suited my needs.

At the fair, I only bought three pendants, a total of 18 arrows at the archery range, and a drink.

Ma_Navu
Aug 13, 2007, 01:35 PM
A total of six swords? Wow. No need for guns for self-protection, eh? =P

I wasn't really arguing, I was just screwing around (I'm bored off'a my ass with no games to play). Just so ya know, I'll rarely ever argue over things that are trivial--and if my statements end with a "xD" or "=P," it'll exclaim that the previous statement was a joke.

"Only" bought? Something tells me that the pendants had to be expensive. I mean, c'mon! Heart Containers for Link are way too valuable to be sold for twenty rupees. =P

AlexCraig
Aug 13, 2007, 01:41 PM
Well, I bought the heart pendant, a red circular pendant (pendant of wisdom), and an Aries pendant for my brother. They weren't that expensive, but I only went with about $55. I had to pay my fee to get in, as well as get some food for breakfast and dinner before and after I was there. I am now tapped out http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Ma_Navu
Aug 13, 2007, 01:48 PM
Ah, $55? I'd have thought it'd be more.

Also, here's a thought: back when bows and arrows were still being used, did you ever think that there was someone stingy enough to go to a battle-site and pull used arrows from dead bodies, wash 'em off, and re-use 'em? That'd have been a better strategy, rather than buying those 18 arrows, don'cha think? =P

AlexCraig
Aug 13, 2007, 01:50 PM
I have yet to get my first paycheck, when I do, I'll have more money.

There were people who did that. They would see if the arrows were still usable. If not, the arrow would just be cast aside.

I didn't buy the arrows. They were rounds for the archery range.

What would've been a better strategy back in those days would be to not wash them. Then your arrows would be bioweapons that could infect your adversary as well as hurt to high heaven. Of course, you would have to be careful yourself, but in the right hands, they would be more deadly.

They had turkey legs and pizza and all sorts of awesome food, but I didn't eat there... aside from the cinnamon roasted nuts place. They gave me a ton of free samples. I think it was because the guy there liked my Link outfit.

I posted the vide a bit earlier today. check some of the previous posts of mine for today.

I saw a joust. Of course, the crowd favorite won against the crowd villain.

Some sprites were playing around in a grove there. They started staring at me and cocking their heads at me, so I did the same and made these otherwise silent fairies laugh.
