Does NPC Luck Actually Count?

I've been doing some Crimson Beast runs with some NPCs, and I was wondering if their luck actually has any affect.

Unless your NPC somehow takes Leadership of the game, I can't see it affecting anything.

I tried that once. Things didn't turn out very well.

There may be something to having more people in your party increasing the drop rate which seems like more luck but NPC's definitely don't factor into that.

It only affects the leader. If you change leader mid mission, I'm pretty sure it takes effect next block. There's no way the luck stacks, if so we definitely would have noticed it on Holy Light week.
