And i have NO classes with any of my "good" friends. I have a class with someone who is a "friend" but not a "good" friend.
I swear, sometimes being in the smarter classes isnt what they are good for. I'd rather be in a regular class with people i can joke around with then an honors class with teachers pets and really really smart people.
Damn you colleges for making it harder for us to get into!

Good times.

i prefer the smarter kids, unless people just choose to be quiet. Loud mouth idiots annoy me to no end. I can at least tolerate what the smart ones say when they're being obnoxious.

I dislike you.
One of my best friends here IS smart. Very smart. He took (mostly) all the honors classes he could. He would be in the same classes asme, but he is in Band. And band screws up his schedule.
His twin bro COULD take honor classes, but hes the laziest guy i know so he wont take them. All my other good friends would do terrible in honor classes, so im all alone.

Well, these are the guys that are in my "group" They love anime/videogames. Hell, the twins i mentioned before play PSO. We connect that way. All the "Smarter" people are nice people, and some i am friends with, but i can't have fun conversations, or really joke around with them like i can with my other friends.

Then Why are you whining, you don't have to ditch you friends just make more, and if you don't have ANYTHING to talk about to them, which i doubt, learn to hold your tongue.

Sord
Aug 20, 2007, 07:56 PM
well, the reason I wackoed my statement was because it's not easy to just get new friends Hell, I can count mine on my hands. Outside of school I only need one hand.

that said, I don't particularly mind not having friends in a class, I just want to go to school and get my work done. I'm not into the whole social aspect of it. My math class is usually quiet since it's the first thing in the morning, then language, which has 24 people, but no one really seems to talk much at times, because it's still morning and no one feels like talking. Power walking only has about 7 or 8 of us, and I always walk way ahed of the group anyways, I don't like being around a bunch of people. Then I finally go to tech class for the remainder of the day, which has plenty of people I actually enjoy talking to.

People are missing the point i guess....
Im just ranting that i won't be able to do anything FUN in those classes. Last year, i barely had any good friends in any of my classes. I slept through all of those. Sure i can hold my tongue brit, but i dont want to this year. I am actually bored of sleeping in class.
For the college thing- yea i know that i wont be with any good friends, but i'll be able to make new friends, because its pretty much a fresh start.
Like i said, in those classes, i am friends with alot of them, and we do talk, but I can't be obnoxious with them.
And Brit, i lived in Cleveland for 13 years of my life, had to move to MD. My 3 best friends in the world are there. I STILL dont have any friends like i do with them. I still have alot of friends here, but not on the level i like.
And i rambled and will probably repeat the same crap over and over, but the supposed "not smart unmotivated people" that you spoke of, are still my friends, and are the gamers of the school. The other smart people in my classes are just normies, and everyone else is a jock.
Which group do i want to be a part of?

AlexCraig
Aug 20, 2007, 08:08 PM
It was the same for me senior year. Every semester, in most of my classes, I had none of my good friends in them. So, first quarter I made friends with some guy sitting mext to me in Auto class. Since then, he has been a great friend. I had friends in other classes, but not many.

Gov't did suck. I had a history teacher who was dissing many things I like, without my knowing. So one day, as he was doing this, I piped up.

(Earlier)
"Man, I tell you, those Cubs fans might as well just give up. They are not going to win ever!"

(Later)
"Any of you hear of WGN radio? My god that was a stupid program! Anyone who listens to that is an idiot!"
"Shut up!"
"What?"
"I said shut up! I can't stand any more of this!"
"What are you talking about?"
"I am tired of you dissing things I like! I am a Cubs fan, I listen to WGN radio sometimes. So shut up! I couldn't give a damn if you are a teacher, cut it out!"
(long silence)

lol co op work terms for students that are involved in a program with a co-operative education work term. Meaning you have a job and study alternating each so when you graduate, you have work skills and "teh kn0wl3dg3" together.

Plus it looks good on your resume.

Oh and Im not in high school lawl.

for years my local highschool campus policy has been once you are on, you can't leave without express permission from the office unless school ends or you are a half day student. Even if you come onto the campus early before school starts, leave briefly, and get back before it starts. It's still technically against the rules.

AlexCraig
Aug 20, 2007, 09:50 PM
We have stuff like that every day. On my last day of school, some guy, whom I knew and was a real jackass, got the crap beaten out of him. He then had a seizure immediately afterward and had to go to the hospital. I hated him a lot, so it is hard for me to tell weather I was happy or sympathetic.

I'm not social, so I don't hang out in crowds that are liable to get in fights. Hell, I spend the majority of my lunch hours last year going to the library. I'm on better terms with the librarians and my chemistry teacher more than any student. Though last year I did have a guy tackled right behind me, they slided right by, kind of amusing, but I just kept walking. You can get suspened now just for standing there and watching a fight.

AlexCraig
Aug 20, 2007, 09:53 PM
I am one of those guys who just wants to get to class and get the day over with. My record, spotless. I did not wish to tarnish it with violence. Believe me, there were several people I just wanted to beat the living daylights out of, but I held myself back.

Sord
Aug 20, 2007, 09:56 PM
I was a real brat in middle school, plenty of fights, bad record. I had some anger problems. Cleared most of the stuff up in highschool though. I was suspened the last nine days of sophmore year for telling my teacher to "lay the fuck off" after pestering me and slamming on my desk to wake me up. Sure, I know I shouldn't have been sleeping, and I didn't help by disobeying him. But he got in a bit of trouble to, because I have a 504 that sepcifically says you are not supposed to instigate me like that, but just send me straight to the office.

in current day stereotypes, I'd be a loner. Unless I'm invited into a conversation, I typically don't talk much. The exception is when I get to tech class. Because our class period there is 2 1/2 hours, we all know each other fairly well and are comfortable around one another.

AlexCraig
Aug 20, 2007, 10:08 PM
Did you get a lot of respect when you talked? I found that whenever I was in class, I never really spoke, aside from with my friends. When I did speak in class, it was unexpected, but intellectual. People listened. When I told people to shut up because the teacher was trying to talk, they shut up. Like I said before, I had a lot of respect.

Sord
Aug 20, 2007, 10:12 PM
I never payed attention to how much respect I was given. Frankly I don't care to much, not going to be seeing any of them in a few years anyways. My sophomore year, I would speak up a lot to give answers, big mistake. All the idiots started asking for help. Now if I answer a lot of questions in class, I make it a point to make sure people know I don't enjoy the work so they won't bug me about it. They left me alone most of my junior year last year. I don't care what someone's opinion of me is, so long as they aren't annoying me about it.

A memory that I can't seem to forget

Just eating my lunch with my friends

Then all of a sudden this kid was listening to his ipod

-.- Then a kid runs up to him and well punches him and stuff for it and runs away

I felt kinda guilty not doing

AlexCraig
Aug 20, 2007, 10:18 PM
I saw people with their iPods with the volume up so loud, they'll be deaf at 20. I even saw repeat offenders of the "No listening to iPods during class hours" rule. The teacher would catch them, let them off with a warning, the student puts it away. Then 10 minutes later they'd be listening to them again.

It was the same with Cell Phones. David once told me a student was caught with her phone. Teacher told her to hand it over.
Girl: "I am on the phone here!"
Teacher takes phone, turns it off, and takes it away.

Sord
Aug 20, 2007, 10:22 PM
some of our teachers do some pretty funny stuff at times. I've had some actually take cell phones away and call other people with them on the phone list. Knew a teacher that would tear off the edge of paper in a notbook that stays on the rings and tear it up further, and then sprink it in someone's hair when they slept. He also collected hole punch bits for that as well. If they take a device with batteries, sometimes they'll just take the batteris out and give you the device back. An art teacher used highlighters on people's hair when they slept. Our teachers are... intresting, to say the least.

AlexCraig
Aug 20, 2007, 10:25 PM
I had a few cool teachers. Mr. White was the best/funniest art teacher. He was knowledgeable and prophetic, but said things with a lot of humorous overtones.

Mr. Williamson Jr. taught some martial arts moves in conflict resolution. That was interesting. A move that can break an arm in 7 places.

Mme. Lakin made the students exercise before we were taught french each day.
