Welcome, plenty of info on this site.

go to character creation and look around and once a character looks like it has potential so far as looks try it. Level up using the offline quests and get meseta first and find a good handgun, look at its %, find a barrier and equip it. That should get you started.

You really should be able to find it somewhere else, so I would not go spending that $60 just yet.

The following stores' websites offer store locators which also give telephone numbers. Call all of the ones within fifty miles of your residence or so -- so long as someone in your household is willing to drive you, or if you have a car -- and ask if they have it in stock. Chances are, you'll find one.

Be sure to read all info on the characters, compare their strengths and weaknesses within your head, and choose the character that's right for you. Your adventure as a whole can be easier or difficult, depending on your character choice. But, you can make it work.

Section IDs are determined by the letters in the name of your character. Depending on the Section ID you have, you will find slightly different items during your quest, and different special weapons in harder modes. There should be a guide to Section IDs on this site somewhere... I do know that there is a Section ID calculator on this site, you can try out different names on it and see what Section ID a character with the name you chose would fall in.

During your adventure, make sure your character always has optimum equipment for his/her class, and at least one alternate weapon that they can use. (As mentioned in a reply above, a Handgun would make a good alternate weapon.) As your character does not have a Barrier from the beginning, you can either buy one from the Guard Shop in the Shopping District or you can find one during your adventures and equip that.

MAGs are indeed quite important... when they grow to higher levels, they can protect you and unleash powerful Photon attacks! But, you have to feed them... 'Mates increase Power, 'Fluids increase Mind, and many other items have other effects. Experiment with items to see what increases your MAG's traits best, and you can refer to a guide on this site to see the different kind of MAGs you can get if you feed them a certain way.

Oh, and this is a given... make sure to level up to high levels during your quest. This will make it easier for you to defeat bosses and future enemies. You can get by at low levels, as well... but, you'll find it to be a bit difficult.

That's about all I can contribute... for more information, you can refer to guides on this site.

Good Luck!

I ordered one for my brother (he lives in the city, has BB) from nintendo.com and it said "available late December" but it allowed me to order one, so I would go there.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's unfortunate that so many stores are out of stock in your area. Also, I second your boo toward Target: I had a WalMart representative tell me that BBA's "didn't exist", and that I was looking for an RFU Adapter. Yes, they specifically said, "this is what you want, not that... other thing". I was amused.

I, too, would recommend either waiting, or ordering the BBA off of a website at this point. If you want one immediately, do not pay anything more than $60, including shipping and handling, because that is what you can get a Japanese BBA for at some importing sites. Since the domestic BBA and the Japanese BBA are identical, sans the kana on the sticker, there's no reason to not get one of those. If you're willing to wait for a little while, Nintendo only charges $5 shipping and handling on internet orders, and their getting restock is inevitable.

Living in Arkansas...I had the problem you're having just gettin the GAME. I even had the problem of people telling me the game didnt exist...except it was from Circuit City. I asked this 1 girl and she looked all confused...made me follow her to this 1 guy and he was all like "Well, that game isnt out yet (note that this is early December, and it came out when? late october?). But when it does come out for PS2 it will be a 2 disc set with the new game and the old game." I was like " First off, you're an idiot. Second, it is out cause i played it yesterday, and its been out for like a month. Third, its on gamecube. Fourth, its only 1 disc. And fifth, did i mention you were an idiot?" he shut up then, and all his friends i guess he was trying to make me look stupid in front of started laughin at him.
