Does anyone here have a Broadband ISP on their computer but has a 56k modem on Gamecube and can still go online with GC? If you can or you know you can please help me.
Thanks

Depending upon your broadband provider, you may have a dial-up account which you could use. If you are going with Earthlink, they offer 20 hours of dial-up time per month, and any additional hours are $1 a piece.
Another method of connectivity would be to set up your computer as a server and have your GameCube dial into it. This is what many people did with the Dreamcast version of PSO, and there are already many guides out there which tell you how to set up a DC and a PC for it, and the same would apply to a GC and a PC.

I have broadband on my computer, yet use 56k for my GC, because it's on the other side of the house. >_- It works, but... I pay for an ISP. (Got it originally for DreamCast, and still have it.)

You should do what I did: Buy a 100 foot RJ-45 cable and drill a couple holes in the house, and run it along the outside, clipping it to the exterior wall. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
(Yes, I really did that. I know it of course doesn't apply to everybody, because few parents would consent. I'm lucky to be the step-daughter of a senior computer lover in the home. You could alternatively run it through the roof, but we preferred the other method.)

Yea, it's nice if you have the money. Also considering my Broadband is very picky with modem's on their line, I'd have to buy a router, which is out of the question. I'm pretty much not willing to invite in a router and cable just for my GC, hasn't lagged yet and runs fine on dialup.

You would be surprised. The router is really the most expensive thing, although you could get a hub if you wanted to stick with a PPPoE connection, and those are cheap. Plus, there's always shopping around. As long as you don't buy your RJ-45 cable in a retail store, you can get 75-100 feet for less than $10. I understand the rest, though.

That's nice yea, and I know everyone keeps saying it's cheap, but with next semester a week or two away, and I'm fully paying my college tuition, yea, even the smallest things add up.
That and I've invested enough money in this game already, it's not worth investing anymore.
