yeah, there's a lot of stupidity behind that rule. I fail to see how whatever damn organization that sets writing standards sees "I" as a word you shouldn't use. For gods sake, I freaking wrote the message, it's coming from my veiwpoint, and most are intended as if I was speaking to the reader. Heaven fucking forbid I use "I" when writing about myself.

yours was about Cubs and the some radio station, which of course I find amusing, because you go to any sports store in Saint Louis and you can get anti-Cub shirts and whatnot. State baseball rivals, heh. Can't say I get into sports though. I find them boring to watch.
