Ambition of the Illuminus will be a stand-alone game. You will not need the original game to play.

For the PS2, at least, with zero storage capacity, it most likely is a new disc altogether; for the 360 it's going to be a DL over at the LIVE marketplace, and for the PC it might go either way.

On the PC and PS2, you'll have to buy another disc, so I'm going to assume you don't need the original disc to play (yes, Sega announced that PC players cannot download it). Xbox 360 players will download the expansion, so we don't know if we'll need our discs or not (probably not).

You really can't use the numerous delays the first psu had when trying to discredit the 11-20 release date for AOI NA. AOI's main game engine didn't have to be made from scratch, its only small tweaks to psu v1. There is already a set release date for the JPN pc/ps2 AOI so get over the whole delay thing.
