Basically the BSoD is the game freezing up when trying to get info from online when it can't (cuz its disconnected) so if you unplug the phone cord, the dc recognizes that you aren't connected anymore and will save and quit, saving you from loosing all of that great stuff you just got http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif
Also i think that there is a problem that the dc can reset itself if it has an internal error, this is not just a soft reset, aka hitting a b x y and start but a reboot of the dc
be carefull and the BSoD cant hurt you

Im from Beverly.
The BSoD can happen to anyone, BBA or modem. The Dreamcast can take up to half of your set idle disconnect time to recognize that you are not playing anymore, so for most of us you have to wait half a hour before you shut off the power to the system to make sure that you havent lost your character.

Here's to beating the BSoD!
My character's name is Soup, a Ramar and i am usually on ophelia block 07
