Long story short, I finally saved up 1 mill on the 360 servers....

...and blew it on 6 beam vulcanics.

Now at the time of this purchase I was a teeny bit stoned off my ass and for whatever reason thought that mechguns could outperform my beloved x-bows as far as raw damage goes.

Is this true, granted the conditions are right?

I know most of the pro's and con's for both. I'm more interested in knowing how high the numbers can go for each on a caseal fortegunner at later levels, since i'm only 54.

My Mechgun outdamages my Crossbow until it runs out of PP.

Lol, well personally, I wouldn't have spent a whole mil on machineguns, even if I'm not on the Xbox servers. For one, I never liked 8* Kubara weapons. The only advantage they have is their slightly higher PP capacity. I tend to value the attack power and accuracy of my weapons more. Second, I've gotten to where I don't use xbows and machineguns that much. As a FG, you can only use up to A rank versions of them (unless they change that in AoI, which I doubt). I tend to stick with my rifles most of the time. Better range, accuracy, power, PP, AND Lv4 status effects when trained, plus you have the freedom of first-person firing. Rifles also have a good rate of fire, and their bullets cause enemies to flinch and get pushed back a bit. The only reason why I carry a Drumline on me is to stun-lock Jarbas and similar enemies with Mayalee Fury - that's about it. If I were you, I would've saved that mil towards an S rank weapon, or some of the new stuff that AoI might have to offer. =/

I say you should make full use of those Beam Vulcanics before selling them though. Level a few mechgun PAs, yesyes?

6 vulcanics - i would grind them...

yeah; grind them all 2marrow.

1 at a time; and make sure u grind evenly.
example: 1, then 1. then 1 then 1 then 1 then 1; then 2, then 2 then 2 etc.

then keep the survivor.

Actually, grind two at a time. Once one blows up, grind another one to have the same level as the first surviver. Then grind them both until another one breaks, and get in another one the same level as the surviver.

Seems to make a bit more sense to me, I think.

Train S2 for reals. I was running train for cheap robot xp while playing at work (solo since I need to hide the window) and I ended up having 3 beam vulcanics in one day of running. Ground them up the next day and now they're all at +4 http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Oh, the beam-vulcanic is probably a better choice for stun locking (especially when your ATA is high anyway). There's a 137 PP difference at 0 grinds. For whatever reason, it's easier to get them to drop rather than getting free drum lines too http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
