And I'm wondering if anyone has some more they'd like to suggest.

So far I have(and these are all movies I've never seen before(except The Good Earth, which I saw the last half), but feel I should see. Also, they are in no particular order):

The Good Earth

Predator

Requiem for a Dream

A Clockwork Orange

V for Vendetta

1984(1984 adaption)

Nosferatu

Silence of the Lambs

Seven Samurai

Kill Bill(both)

Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain

Un Chien Andalou

And finally... Donnie Darko!

Also, feel free to comment on my selections.

Oooh, nice list!

Hope you have better luck than I did, but I was bored to death while watching Seven Samurai. Hell, even its American counterpart, The Magnificent Seven, put me to sleep. Again, just me - you might just like 'em (let us know). Donnie Darko didn't totally do it for me either, but that's mostly cause people around me built it up too much. I haven't seen Requiem for a Dream, but one of my friends adores the movie (again, love to know what you think after you see it). Just wondering, but how did you get wind of Un Chien Andalou? On Nosferatu, enjoy it, but don't expect too much (I mean, it is historic and interesting to watch, but don't expect to get your mind blown). If you do watch Nosferatu and find it interesting, I would suggest you put Shadow of the Vampire somewhere towards the latter half of your list.

Anyway, some recommendations... hmmm

Recommendations (in order of priority from me to you):

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (an epic western/war/buddy/comedy/action/etc. movie)

I'll second Pulp Fiction (although something tells me you've already seen it)

Apocalypse Now (I personally prefer the original over Redux)

The Godfather (I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't like it even a little).

The Godfather II (I'd slap someone who didn't like it after watching the whole thing)

Memento (I get a funny feeling you're going to love this - I did)

Snatch (cause it is just so damn fun every time I watch it)

The Departed (or Goodfellas, take your pick - I love both)

On other movies recommended:

Like I said, I double Pulp Fiction. I actually didn't care for Gangs of New York too much. I just thought the characters were too malicious, I guess. Still worth a watch I suppose, but at least see something like Goodfellas first (if you were for some reason limited in the number of Scorsese films you can see http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif ). Also, I don't see the need for you to put Click on any "must-watch" list. I mean, it's not awful or anything, but I don't think it fits the list you seem to be making (sorry, Shadowpawn). Same goes for the Butterfly Effect. Again, not saying anything bad about it, but I just don't think it's all that important for you to watch, BlueDagger. I'll second Total Recall, but not without mentioning Terminator II (you should have seen this already - everyone should have, even infants need to watch this awesome piece of awesomeness). I'd add The Searchers to Meira's list of John Wayne movies.

Oooh, one last thing. No matter what you do, do NOT watch Predator 2 (it BAH-LOWS). Enjoy the first one, though.

Of course, have fun, whatever you watch! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

The Warriors

True Romance (I love this movie)

Rambo http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Click (I think it's Sandler's best performance myself)

Reservoir Dogs

Two Click recommendations already?

If you are seriously considering putting it on a list, I'd just suggest you watch It's a Wonderful Life and Billy Madison back to back instead. You'd get about the same experience, only you'd laugh more while getting the same basic feel-good lesson. I like Adam Sandler and all, but I don't go into his movies for his dramatic performance; and if I did, I would just go watch Punch-Drunk Love.

Yeah, I kept pushing Total Recall on someone in FKL here last month or so? Its now on DVD @ Bestbuy or wherever with T:2 for less than $10, went as low as $4 last week!

"I don't know who he is, but I know where he is!" Danny Glover, too old for this shit taking down Predators single handedly? After some crazy man Gary Busey appearance to add more minutes to the movie of course.

I used to always want to rent Predator 2 at the Safeway Supermarket video store when I was like 10 even though I'd seen it a buncha times. Predator 1 I always associated with the hardass NES game that was impossible to beat even with Game Genie cheats. Good movie though. Apollo Creed dies, again!

Iron Monkey is a good movie if you're into martial arts with the ol' comedy mixed in, and Donnie Yen is awesome. Except when he gets blown'd up asplode by Jackie Chan with a firework in one of those Shanghai Knights Owen Wilson movies. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I'm tired to the point of near-death, so only a few are coming to mind and slowly leaking themselves out of my fingers onto the keyboard. Besides what's been mentioned already...

12 Angry Men
The Prestige

Then a few animated ones...

Grave of the Fireflies
Pom Poko

The Thirteenth Warrior was good.

I've got some suggestions >>

Crash
28 Days Later
Dawn of the Dead
GATTACA
Ocean's Eleven (and also Twelve)
Apocalypto
Liar Liar
Mr. Deeds

I also noticed you had some French films in that list.

-La Gloire de mon Pere

It's a somewhat old movie, but I highly recommend it http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Haven't seen the movie, but the book is really good. Read the book!

Well, I am like soooo not a movie person, but I will toss a few in the ring:

Dr. Strangelove
The Prestige is seconded
1941
Danton
Saving Private Ryan (yeah, I'm sure you've seen this, but you never know!)
Amadeus
Dangerous Liasons (damn, I need to watch this again, 'cause I hardly remember anything except for the fact that it was awesome)
Black Adder (II, The Third, and Goes Forth [the first series is meh]; okay, these aren't movies, but these 6-episode serieseseses are probably some of the most outrageously, fantastically, enormously funny shit I've ever seen on a TV screen; hunt them down most tenaciously and consume!!)

I guess that's all I will say.
