Damn, I need to get one of those.

I had a 1GB one before, but it got messed up. Now I am reduced to 256MB. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

I need a new one for Socom.

I wanna play on the new maps to http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

You only need 270mb of free space, but i might as well get a gig or 2.

You keep that on your flash drive? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I would ASSUME you two are talking about the PSP, yes?

Tact

Not necessarily. Flash drives are compatible with things other than the PSP. >_>

Zipper Interactive desided to be ass's and make you get a flash drive for new downloadable maps.

5.99 for 5 maps i think.

You have to purchase it then download it to a flash drive/mp3/Internal ps2 Hard disk in order to save them.

Hard Disk is 40gigs and only comes with a FF game.

My IPod and my Nano are full and those are the only compatible ones i have.

So that leaves a flash drive and since a 1gig is $10 il be using that one.

Still, though, ten dollars for a one gigabyte flash drive is awesome. When I got my 1GB flash drive a couple of years ago, it was around fifty dollars.

I know its great!!!

I saw a 2gig but i forgot the price.

Now if only RAM were that cheap. The world would be a better place full of people with 2gig+ of RAM.

I have 1.5 gigabytes of RAM. It works well enough for me.

I have only 320 MB of RAM, it works well enough, but I wouldn't mind having more.

Or on second thought it might only be the program I use that recognizes any hdd.

Eh. $20 for 2gb is quite common these days. Sony's new micro drive is like, $10 for 1gb, and it doesn't even have the frame for the usb port, it just .. goes in.

I still use my ipod nano for bigger files >10mb, and gmail for everything else. Having a school that has computers in every room is so awesome. People play halo on said flash drives though. ;/

one they work out the kinks in Vista to the point I'll actually buy it, using flash drives for RAM is gonna be nice.

Flash Drives dont work as fast as RAM though. :/

Flash drives don't work as RAM, they work as additional swap space. Albeit even slower than an internal hard drive. The only advantage would be access times, but frankly it doesn't equal out once the drive has spun up (if it even needs to spin up). Readyboost is one of the things I disable on my Vista machines because it uses more resources than I gain. It does help on computers with around 512MB of memory, but why the hell would you install one of the most demanding operating systems on the planet on a computer with only 512MB of memory?

Flash drives are dirt cheap. Got 4GB for $30 not too long ago. I'm still wondering about getting the 16GB flash drive off of Newegg though. If it keeps dropping in price down to under $100 I might just have to snatch one up.

Yes, I know.

It uses the extra memory as a temporary storage space.

Meh, this is worthy as a double post.

I got my Flash Drive http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

1gig but considering it was $10 and I only needed like 128mb it was a good deal.

First thing I did, convert it to FAT 32.

$10? I should have waited a bit longer, half a year ago the cheapest 1 gig I saw around $15 >.>

Kinda like mp3 players lol, you can buy 2 gig mp3 players for like 80 bucks now (considering my 128 MB one cost me $120 3 years ago >.>)

lol, really.

I bought a cheap mp3 player for travel use (like hell im gonna bring my nano to a beach, I dont want to risk damage) for around $70 that was 512MB.

3 months later, the same player for $60 but 1gig instead.

SanDisk bitches.
