If "for us" you mean North America, where did you hear/read/see this?

September 27th is for the Japanese release...so no, I don't think we are getting it this month.

Of course we won't get it at the end of the month. We're behind schedule with the updates, so we'll get it a couple of months later, after catching up. Japan however is NOT behind, so they can go ahead and release it this month http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Well, I'm pretty confident that AoI will get released on-time in Japan, as there have been no delays aside from the World merger, so I'm sure they'll get it at the end of this month. As for us, most people agree we're looking at a November release, but nobody knows for sure. Seems Sega's still unsure as well, I expected a release date of some sort by now, even if they said "tentative".

Its ST...which means nothing is certain. I wouldn't be surprised if they said "Surprise! AoI was just a codename for Sonic Fighters 2! Enjoy!"

In all of Phantasy Star history, supposedly, every game released in Japan, we've always gotten it
2 months later. Again, this is in terms of the Phantasy Star series, not other games.

So, we'll go with that timeline, ne? No, it won't come out for us on 9/27.

The JP version is September 27th. I remember seeing that it'd be mid-to-late November for a US release date...which means we have about two months to catch up to JP content releases.
Hope they turn the cap up to 100 in October.

Uhm...I just looked at that, and technically that just means the preordering is available. AoI still won't be out over here until Novemeber, and later for EU people, sorry.

HandOfThornz

lol yeah EU would get AOI for a while yet. I just came across that link accidently and remembered this topic http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

November 20th, right? As much as I'd like to believe that, it's just the tentative rumor even if it feels close, and Sega's saying that AoI for EU won't be around until possibly December this year or January next. (Winter 2008 EU)

Could possibly expect the date that Gamestop to be right, but if Sega says November or December 27th instead of the 20th, I won't be surprised.

JP got the Famitsu Cup, we got... an Amy statue (middle finger). JP got rebalanced missions and more ultimate PA's, we got... a "Real Hand" Gun (middle finger). JP got no death penalty, we got... More of the same missions where "S" ranks don't drop (middle finger again). But hey we got an entire month of Fireworks, JP got... the same? Hmn, guess that would be a middle finger for all.
I'm sure that since $ega hasn't figured out that M$ takes a long time to approve content after an entire year, we will get more of the same lame BS for as long as possible. It would appear that any advanced planning is non-existant so, see you on AOI in 2008!

September is too early even for Japan. They're still living it up over there with the thanks festival and the end of famitsu and the fireworks lobby. The game here in the States was released Oct November so the expansion pack i believe should be after the one year american release anniversary which is november december -Ish. I hope. Maybe. I sure hope we get it in Nov...All the other games I've been wanting to get have been pushed back to next year...So this is like the only game I'm looking forward to this Fall.

hey, whats with all this distrust of Sega? If there is one thing I've learned, its that you can trust people to do exactly what you know them to do, AoI will hit japan in October, US December, EU too late to care http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

YOU might not, but it's one of the biggest game releases ever, and for a game company NOT to care about the fact that their game is coming out 2 days after the launch of a game like Halo 3 would be crazy. And we weren't talking about the JP release, were we?

PSU and Halo 3 are two different kinds of games, and not everyone plays both. As such, they being so close won't have any bad consequences for AoI. At worst, people who want both but can only get one at the time will get Halo 3 then and AoI later, it's not like if they will choose Halo 3 and forget about PSU, or as if AoI is a limited release that will be gone after a short time.

Halo 3 won't be a noticeable hit on either the current population levels (school is the only thing that ever has such an effect), and it won't effect AoI's launch noticeably, either, assuming it does come out on September.

And, of course, this is only the 360 side of the equation. Does anyone see anything on the PC/PS2 side that could possibly have the same effect the doomsayers say Halo 3 will have?
