How much of the disc will be available from day 1? Is it gonna be pretty dry to start like PSU was? Will it be (crosses fingers) ALL available? Anyone know for sure one way or the other?

They'll probably hold some stuff back, but I imagine most of what they've shown us already will be available with more stuff we haven't seen locked away. That's my guess anyways... I really don't expect to see it all from launch.

i doubt all available cuz then wat we jsut play wats there and no more updates? BORING!

im thinking they're gonna give us wat was on the beta at the start, THEN slowly drip us content.

so it should start off really good, then get really boring again after about a month

We'll get just counter. Just attack will be released two weeks afterwards, and the enemy hit box will change a month after that. After that, male fleshies will get their maid outfit.

All the good stuff that you're seeing advertised right now will be released when the next expansion info starts coming out.

I'd say

A lot of new content compared to the complete "old" PSU. (like a huge update or something)

Yet I guess people will get used to that fast (at least the ones who complain about not having enough to do in this game, the fun for them in AoI will be gone pretty fast I bet.) and thus the demonic circle will start again.
Wait
Update
Wait
Update
Wait
Update
and so on..~

But I guess ST is improving pretty much with the release of AoI. And right now I think they're doing pretty good, too. We have a lot of content we can use and play.

I'm betting that all the fixes and core game modifications will come with the disc itself, which is the stuff I'm really looking for. I imagine the extra content (new weapons, outfits, missions, etc.) will be staggered like we're familiar with. And that's really a good thing, if we got it all at once we'd all be bored after a couple months, and nobody would continue to pay for the game. It may annoy us sometimes, but Sega's got a firm understanding of marketting.

yes everything u see on the JP sites, thats all we are getting, just one thing every other week.

the JP get it all at once, and since they have no more stuff to give them they'll just have event after event after event! ^.^

No, JP doesn't get everything at once. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
They're just ahead of us peeps and sometimes do get things we don't get or at least we have to wait much longer for than expected, plus I guess they get more at once but like Typheros said ST still has the knack for marketting etc. ;p

eh... works for me. I guess i wouldnt want litterally ALL or the content, but I do want a little of ALL of it. A few new weps, a few missions, a few clothing options, the casino, a few decos, etc. I just need a -taste- of everything...

You still got a point that JP gets event over event though. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
But whatever, I'm satisfied with the content we have right now pretty much.

lvl 110 or 120 lvl cap to start, new areas, type lvl 20 cap, the new types, some of the new manufacturers of current b-aranks. I'm having some serious doubts on 13* equipment being available from monsters/boxes right off the bat.

AoI is actually going to remove existing features from the game, and we will all be kicked back to Lvl 10 Hunter/Ranger Force. The monthly fee will be increased to $15/month. and no updates will be made until 2nd quarter 2008 due to technical difficulties.

Bitter? Nooooooo. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

HAHA! didnt the Japanese servers have some malfunction early on that wiped everyone to lvl1 or was that an interumor?

Kylie

Gosh, you guys are so pessimistic. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif We'll just have to wait for the JP release to be certain.

Too optimistic. I'm thinking:
- Lv 110
- a few new areas & rares to hunt
- new B & A ranks
- new room & system options

I bet new classes, PA's, class caps, and more areas will come later (>1 month), just as they did last year. After all, Sonic Team has to allow enough time to dash everyone's hopes before giving us the good stuff. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

We will know for sure in 3 weeks.

comon; dont think as this as a different game; think of it as one MASSIVE update that will cost us.

like maps on a different game or somethin.

It wasn't a rumor, but I don't think you have the jist of the story.

Within 4 days of PSU's JP release, more than 120,000 people between the PS2/PC players joined. Sega/Sonic Team wasn't ready for an influx that large, so they had to rollback everyone to level 1 and they gave everyone who registered for a JP Guardian's License a month of play for free in order to test out any sort of bugs while they corrected the issues that they faced, and expanded the servers to handle the massive ly sudden population.

It wasn't so much a malfunction as it was a severe overload of players.

Everything needs to be released at once, so that:

1. People don't get impatient and leave.
2. Everyone doesn't stay in one area.
3. We axtually get everything, and don't have the game die without some content.

If they released everything all at once, they'd need to be significantly more creative with making extra content, and we probably all know how that goes... <_<

Making extra content takes more time than it does to gradually release content, especially when you've got only a few people to work on things, and only at certain times of the day. Sega's a corporation, so not all of it's staff is working on new ideas or trying to complete current content at every hour of every day.

If they had that kind of 24/7 sense of duty, then some of the missions probably wouldn't be made with glaring bits of sloppiness, like calling De Ragnus' Lair "Block <#>", and some other things that I'm not quite aware of yet, but could be possible.

One thing I hope they dont do is make the S ranks available in any way in the shops. It will get rid of the "elitness" (sp?) that comes with owning at least one S rank.

PSU AoI has an advantage over the original PSU in that they'll already have the existing game's content and will just be adding TO that. So even if when it launches we only have one new mission per "planet" it will still be enough to keep new players interested. (I imagine that we'll get a large member increase during the first month, mostly made up of people who left within the first 2 months of PSU, so all the existing content will be "new" to them)

I suppose Sega have to strike a balance here. If they release very little, it doesn't make AoI worth it until later. If they release too much, they're going to struggle for content updates later.

Still, I think everything in the Beta will be released at launch in some form (sans the beta-only stuff like elemental photons in shops), so my predictions are:

- Lv120 cap (if the final level cap is 200, this gives Sega 8 opportunities to increase the level cap, compared to the five regular PSU got)
- Old Rozenom City, Granigs Mine, Forest and Pavilion of Air released (including De Ro Le and Alteratz Goug)
- Acrotecher and Acrofighter
- Lv20 Type cap
- Casino, Mt. Ohtoku and Paracawhatsitsname Beach lobbies released (I suspect the Casino will have crappy prizes to begin with though, and more stuff will be added in updates)
- New standard B and A ranks, such as GRM Rods and Yohmei Axes, added to shops.
- Some of the new rooms and all the changes that come with them.
- New Conditional Search shop system and all the other various changes like Just Attack and the grinding change.
- Other balance changes like elemental % rebalancing.

Just my prediction though. I'll be interested to see how close I am (not).

If you can exchange your gathered chips for Meseta, then that'd be a sweet enough prize to me. :3
