Waiting out an FSOD

Well it finaly got me as i teleported from a game back to the lobby.
As i write this my screen is locked and its been about 5 mins since this occured.
I heard it was possible to wait them out until your disconnect timer kicks in. I was just wondering if this is possible because i don't care to lose my lv 135 angel wings @__@
Also is it still the same as the originals where you only lose unequiped stuff? because if i lose my equiped Devil Tail there will be hell to pay...

Uhh.. do you have yur online setting to "Do Not Disconnct"?? If so, then you're screwed out of your angel wings. Sorry man.

nah i never set it to that. On the second memory card that i am currently using it should be 15 minutes. 60 max.

If it's also making the annoying buzzing sound then you're screwed, if it's just frozen try a softreset(X+B+start for 2 seconds)

Why wait? softreset saves and quits your game you would lose nothing.

Reiken, I've gotten that same Lobby teleporter FSOD so many times now. It never lets me do soft reset. Check you PMs. You still might be able to save your stuff...

Also, bank everything valuable when you teleport back to the Lobby. I learned that lesson the hard way like 4 times already. =P

But i'm with rena for the most part. I would like to be sure that this method works, just to be on the safe side. It's been a while so if this does work i guess i had my timer on 45-60 mins heh. If this doesn't work i will try soft reset. IF that won't work i will try Jae's method wich they provided me via PM. At least one of these ways MUST work or else SEGA should be dragged out back and flogged to death for cheating not just all players but the the hardcore players who love this game and those who work hard for their items.
If my stuff were dupes well i could give a rats left buttcheek, but since i found them legitamately i would rather not lose them, nor would anyone else, so hopefully there is a way to beat this.

Any method that allows you to disconnect without saving AND without losing your unequipped items has the potential be tweaked for duping purposes. :|

I'd be happy to post it if I could clear it with a mod, preferably one who's proficient in duping methods. Then they could tell me if it is in fact dangerous to pass along the info...

lol here it is, i didnt do much insulting because i dont want them to just brush it off wich they'll probably do anyway, but here it is:

"Hello. I'm POSSITIVE you get this e mail alot because this is the biggest problem in PSO, and its YOUR fault. Thanks to your "quality product" i just lost severl hours of my life working hard to find an item called "Heart of Angel" from a holiday ST Rappy. Well i built my Angel wing mags from scratch and got them up to level 140.
Well i signed online with PSO this morning and play with my friends for a little while. I left the game after we had finished the mines. As i exit the game into the visual lobby, my screen freezes at an overhead shot of the visual lobby and the screen is darkend. My first "FSOD" or "Frozen screen of Death as most players call it.
I waited for an hour and a half with my broadband cord disconected thinking that my disconect timer will take me back to the title screen (a common rumor). Well after an hour and a half i get nothing, just the same screen. So i attempt to soft reset the machine using x+b+start for 2 seconds. Still frozen. So i attempt just shutting off my machine. I do so and when i go to check my items, everything un-equiped is gone. My angel wing mags that i was raising on the side...gone, and i owe it to your "quality product" and "anti-cheating method".
I could care less about other people duping items and cheating, but when your idiotic programming interferes with items i EARNED that i know you will NEVER refund, thats when i draw the line. Many players are fed up. When i say many i mean a good majority of the people who play PSO, because i know people who have had all of their items lost thanks to "FSOD" about 10 times. It's not fair!
We work hard, we pay a MONTHLY FEE, and why? so you can maintain the servers and keep players happy? Well i hate to break it to you but so many players are not happy when they lose not just bits of coding in a game, but the hours of their life they spend playing to obtain their items. DO NOT CHARGE A MONTHLY FEE if you cannot fix errors in program that have been around ever since the first Version of PSO, it is inexcusable and i suggest you do somthin to rectify these mistakes (wich are YOUR FAULT) before you lose your consumer base.
I've been a loyal fan of SEGA since childhood, since the Master System and Genises, i even stuck with you through the Sega CD, 32x,Saturn and Dreamcast because i thought they were good products for the most part. I was sorry to see you give up on each system, especialy the Dreamcast, wich was not entirely your fault, but i feel let down. But when products such as PSO take away from legitamate players and not give us anything back, i start to wonder about this company.
For instance, USA doesn't even have the luxury of a keyboard to talk to our friends, no promotional goods like Japan, not even the ability to upload our screenshots. Get on the ball or just stay off. I will continue to play PSO until all of my character files get corrupted wich no doubt they will eventualy. It happens to so many people and you could care less. I seriously advise you to work your debug staff much harder when it comes to delicate titles like PSO. Item loss is INEXCUSABLE and will NOT be tolerated much longer. If you decide to make a PSO2 i suggest making it player to server as opposed to the player to player. Go to Funcom and check out their item loss prevention system, it realy is the best out there.
Please do not mail me back if your JUST going to apologise, i don't want to hear it, nobody wants to hear it, it will NOT make me feel better. I know you will not refund items, due to the fact that you can not prove i ever had the items i lost, i doubt you care anyway to be quite honest.
PSO is an EXCELLENT game but with major issues that realy frown on the players and we do not appreciate it. I'm not going to try to get my Angel wing mags again. I had them once, i should have them now, end of story.What is it going to take to make you get up and do something to help us?
I realy hope you decide to take what i said to heart, and do SOMETHING. The players would realy appreciate SEGA standing behind it's product.

As for 'method 3', you WILL get a message saying that you lost your stuff. I did too. But when I loaded up the character offline, my stuff was still there. I'm a little confused as to what you said about 'soft resetting offline' because you're not supposed to soft reset at all. Ah well. Again, I'm sorry I couldn't help. Losing your stuff really sucks. It's so disheartening. I even put my HU into retirement for a while because I lost all of her good stuff to that stupid FSODing NiGHTS quest.

sega probably gets 1500 email messages a day saying the same things you just said. the only way they could make it up to us is by loosening up the rares on the servers for a day, or by coding 20% of all monsters to be rare. i know they can do it if they can swap rappies.

your complaint will just make some poor customer service rep sorry for about 15 seconds until they read the next "i lost my stuff" message.

the only way we can make them understand is by not renewing our hunters licenses, and take a 30 day break from the game. that, or we can crash vega by "meet the user" lobby flooding and name all games "fsod protest".

See my new sig. Sorry to hear about that, Reiken...I've had one FSOD so far logging into the lobby, and thankfully I had banked all my unequipped weapons and mags. I still lost 200k and 2 scapedolls, but it's NOTHING compared to losing an 11* weapon, or a rare mag...

that sig is awesome! I too have been plagued by the BSOD and FSOD many times, once losing an entire inventory of items that I was trying to trade. (not dupes, all found by my 4 characters). I went into a rage and leveled my FOmar for hours, getting to lv. 49 before stopping.

Sorry for your loss, I know how it feels. I almost wept openly for losing my Flowens shield, Secret Gear and Yamatos. . . . well, maybe not, but it definately hurt. . . .
