Does anyone know how Luck comes into play? I know sometimes I get rare items more often than usual, now that my LCK is 30 because of two Master/Abilities attached, but I was wondering if that rating was the actual percentage rate of getting rare items.

in-game luck has nothing to do with finding rares, it's all chance. Luck just increases a chance of a critical hit.

I'd like to find a chart about how Luck affects critical hits. Anyone working on one?

I'm pretty sure the formula is this simple: Your luck points symbolize the percentage of chance you have to make a critical hit. For example, if you have 30 LCK, every hit you make has a 30% chance of being critical.

I wish that were true... But, that doesn't figure when you take 100 luck into consideration.

I agree with TeamPhalanx. My luck is around 60 and about 5% of my hits are critical hits.

Back on the Dreamcast critical hits were roughly equal to 33.3~% luck, as the average of getting a critical with a Luck score of 100 was about 1 in every 3 attacks. I don't know if it's still the same in E1&2.

ya, i thought about the stat bein a percentage (since luck goes to only 100) but then i realized that that would make luck like the ultimate stat overall since generally a critical hit doubles your damage, and i knew any programmer that has any brains wouldnt let that happen.

I have 84 Luck and i get a critical hit with a double saber usually with 2 out of the 6 swings i pull off.

Hmm... I've also heard that Luck affects Megid strength and the chance of freezing or shocking an enemy with techs.

i find luck to be useful with mechguns, but i wouldnt waste mats to get it to 100. luck is good with any of the multiple hit weapons, but it is less of a factor with sabers and handguns.

there was something i was thinking about on the new version... what if luck is tied to finding rares and rare enemies this time. we know for certain that it wasnt a factor on dreamcast, but how can we be sure with gamecube. just a thought... i am pretty sure it isnt a factor but i cant be certain, at least not yet. maybe i can save up 40 or so luck mats and use it on a low level test character.

It's an interesting thought, but I don't think that happens even in this version. For example, my flagship character has 50 Luck. In my opinion I've recently found less with her than I did 20 or so levels ago when she still had 10 Luck. Just luck of the draw, but I'm still pretty sure that the Luck score has nothing to do with item drops or rare critters.

Thanks for that info Vulpes. I just need to get corraboration from a few others (like Sedyne with his 84 luck) then we can put the theory to rest about rare/luck.

Well I have 20 luck and I get critical hits about 2 times out of every 6 hits of my G-Assassains Sabers, nothing else though, including other twin sabers like mushashi and yamato, will do it that often may like 1 every 12 hits
