ok so i know EBgames has a 2.25.02 rls date set, but thats a lil far off. i was browsin some sites lookin to use some xmas gift certificates (hate those things, would rather have cash), and found this:

http://shop.mediaplay.com/site/catalog/catalog.jsp?catid=cat000987&prodid=002120850

january first?! ok so i know this is a bit hopeful, but wouldnt it make sense to launch it with the jap live launch?? forget rls dates, we know by now that theyre never gonna officially announce one, its jus gonna pop up on a shelf one day probably lol...jus hope people.

Well I have read on another message board that EB has said 2/25/02 while OXM and EGM have both posted sometime in March. So the release date is up in the air, but I gather that the game ought to be released no later than March, I hope! We can only wait for some word from Sonic Team or MS.

The game is really second rate there is plenty you can do in the mean time...

I don't understand. Are you saying PSO as a whole is a second rate game? Or are you saying the Xbox version is second rate compared to the GC version? You're entitled to your opinion, of course, but I don't know why you post this, since you have no more idea about what the Xbox version is like than anyone else here.

As to the release date... I'm just tired of speculation. I wish MS would just give us a release date NOW, wether it be January, February, March, or worse. I personally think it should be released Jan. 16 alongside the Japanese launch (of PSOX and Xbox Live).

Hmmm... I wrote to Sega a while ago and I don't think PSO Xbox will be released anytime soon... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif shame... We can only hope to obtain clear information. I know it's a pain in arse to wait (I'm sick o' this actually...) but I'll cross my fingers that we can have it before spring 2K3.

LMAO WoW I like that site..there it is boyz Solid info, Jan 1, 2002. GET READY!!!. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Anywayz, like I said in the "PSO test" topic, how about we quit talking about this, and until we find 3 or more GOOD ONLINE RESOURCES with THE SAME RELEASE DATE how about we then post instead of waisting space, our time, and what little we have left in our brains to comprehend all of this.

Until then can we please stop bringing up the same topic with no PROVEN release dates and such.

Thank you, and Happy New year

Just FYI Gamespot is standing by that 2/25/03 release date they got from EB, insisting the retailer got it from the publisher.

I'm going to call the SEGA PSO people on Monday and I'll post their response here (if they permit me to).

But if this date is true, I'm putting my GC PSO down and going to start on XBOX when it comes out. Voice support will be so much better than me (with that crappy keyboard) talking to others with no keyboard.

That depends on your point of view. The graphics on the XBOX version *seem* to be *very* slightly better, but in a game like PSO, that doesn't really matter.

The XBOX version is for BB-users only, and to play online it requires a subscribtion to XBOX Live. With that, it enjoys all the perks that come with XBOX Live: A simple and universal Friends List, Player Feedback to aid Microsoft in banning trouble makers, the comfort of having the most powerful software company in the world control the servers and patrol for cheaters, et al.

Also, the XBOX version supports both Voice Chat (With the Voice Communicator) and Keyboard (With a simple USB Keyboard adaptor). The GCN version currently has no way to communicate effectively and easily...in the US, at least.

So, if you own an XBOX, or neither a GCN or an XBOX, and aren't appaled by the concept of Voice Chat, and have BB, I'd recommend you try to hold out another month and a half for the XBOX version to come out. Otherwise, enjoy the GCN version. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

here is an official page for the japanese release. Forgive me if it has been posted already--

http://www.sonicteam.com/pso_xbox.html

Here is what most the language on the page says:

-----

"January 16th of 2003 start of online service
" Xbox Live starter kit " (6,800 classified by tax) bundled
ハンターズライセンス (server rent) XXYEN 600 / month

At present, in the midst of XboxLive limitation beta program opening!"

-----

And then finally "Coming to Xbox Live 2003.1.16"

Japanese release and then the US release one month later? What's wrong with that picture?

Oh, and interesting to note that the Japanese customers appear to be paying SEGA for monthly "server rent". Are we sure that that the US version will be covered by an XBOX Live subscription?

i suppose that we should all stop right in our tracks and bow to the noob?

listen....erm....."junior"... Maybe you never thought of this, but jus discussing the game makes some people feel better, maybe someone missed a post that you've obviously seen. or maybe they just like talking about their xbox pso, even if new details are at a bare minimum. so, if you're tired of hearing bout these posts, theres a very, very simple solution. i know it may seem quite difficult, but its not, really, you ready?

STOP READING THE ONES ABOUT XBOX PSO!!

Abductor, new PSO games have come out in the US about a month after the Japanese version a majority of the time.

JP: PSOv1-12/21/00
US: PSOv1-1/23/01
JP: PSOep1+2-9/12/02
US: PSOep1+2-10/29/02

So if the XBOX version is released in the States on Feb 25th, as a few sources, including EB and GameSpot, who say that date comes from the Publisher, report, then it won't be anything apart from the norm.

And, no, we're not sure that XBOX PSO in the States *won't* carry a fee, however, since it looks like it will be released in a month and a half, and there has been no announcement on the matter concerning US players, and the announcement concerning JP players was made over six months ago, I'd say it would be safe to say that there will be no extra fee for the US players.

Hmm...it looks like the Feb. 25th date is *very* likely. First Electronics Boutique has that date, then GameSpot, and now xboxevolved.com...and it seems that GameStop is changing their date to Feb. 25th, as well (some local stores are). Looking good! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Notice how I said "...a majority of the time". PSOv2 doesn't fit the pattern that its two brothers do, so I omitted it.

but, i proved you wrong.
v2 did not come out a month after it did in japan.

I've already stopped playing GC in anticipation. I'll probably sell the keyboard once I know for sure the XBOX date is coming. And maybe I'll raffle off my GC PSO items hehe.

I hate to choose anything over my beloved Gamecube especially if it's Microsoft but their online gaming setup is so sweet; they are earning their 2nd place position.

I think that PSO fans will especially like the ability to choose your real voice or select from a set of voice modulations. So you girls with big burly androids can talk in a deep bass, and you boys with female characters can talk in a falsetto, if you like.

Umm...this is a silly arguement, but, no, you didn't. Two out of three times *is* a majority. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
