PSU: AoI Preorder Thread

I just went into my local GameStop to preorder my copy of the expansion "Ambition of Illuminus" for PS2... and when I asked the manager about he, he said that he only had the 360 and PC versions slated for release.

O.O I double-checked their books, and he was right; there was no preorder information on the PS2 version. Anyone have any information regarding this? I doubt ST would cut off PS2 completely, but what's with the lack of information?

I doubt it, could just be your gamestop. It's highly unlikely that there is no ps2 release.

Tell him to look harder. He may have confused the SKU categories for 360 and PS2. (GameStop's 360 category is 20 while PS2's is 28.) After all, we know the 360 version is download-only, so it's not going to have a retail release.

EDIT: Better yet, if you want to try again, give him the SKU for the PS2 version. It's 281762. Have him search for that in his system and it should bring it up.

I'm thinking Espio is right, seeing as there is no 360 disc. We get ours from the Marketplace, so there shouldn't be a preorder-able version at GameStop.

The only question for us 360 users is if we'll have it available the day its released in stores for PC/PS2.

well i got a reciept in my pocket for the PS2 version and the PC version must be your gamestop. thats where I did mine

Seriously guys i know you might get mad at me for saying this but i really doubt that this game will be sold to the point that you wont be able to get one day 1.

I gave just over five years of my life to the awful corporation that is GameStop, so I know first-hand how rare it is for a game to actually be sold out on day one. The only reason I even pre-order games anymore is because it helps my old manager. Apparently the more reserves her store gets, the better her bonus will be. (While I was still around, the whole reserve thing was used as a scare-tactic. "Don't get enough reserves and you're gone!" and all that kind of crap.)

You have to pre-order some of the unpopular games because some stores only get 2-3 copies if any at all.

yea preorder to me is not it will run out. just the fact I can just go down to the gamestop pick it up it is already prepaid. Be up and running in no time.Now a questio to the PC players. Will AOI be another game on the system or will it replace it? Do we need both games in are harddrives?

According to the official Japanese site, Ambition of the Illuminus will stand completely alone from the original game, so you don't need the original PSU to play the expansion.

Eh... before you do that, check with the manager to see when their UPS and FedEx shipments generally arrive. They don't always come first thing in the morning. For example, when I worked for the company, my store would generally receive shipments around 01:00p.m. It was very rare for us to get a shipment early in the morning.

When PSO 1&2 came out on gamecube my gamestop only got two copies.And i got the second one.The guy told me that no one pre ordered it.

I usually preorder something I want just because I don't wanna have to wait for it, or if it's not gonna be a popular game, to make sure they actually order ME one at least. When I picked up PSO for the cube for example, they only had 2 copies at the game crazy by my house....which reminds me, I need to go preorder SSB:B

I sure wish it was in October, like last year. All the other games I was looking foward to were delayed (GTA 4, DMC 4) until next year (And I'm not a big Halo fan).

Even if the game is sold out in one store, I got like 5 other stores around my area that will have it in stock. Through out my whole gaming life, the only thing that I had trouble looking for was the WII.
