I was just wondering if any thinks that PSU(1) will be shutdown after PSU(AOI)comes out?I'm hopeing they won't do that because not everyone may be able to get AOI right away and will be left with no way to play online until they can get AOI.So what do you think will happen to PSU(1)after PSU(AOI)comes out?

Vanilla PSU will stay, just likely without updates.

...
It's the same game...
AOI is just an expansion pack.
You don't need "Burning Crusade" to keep playing "World of Warcraft".
It's not required to play, it's just suggested.

Like V2 was for Dreamcast.

Can someone re-inform me of why it's Vanilla? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

PSU Vanilla won't be shut down when AoI comes out. It may not get any major content updates, but it won't be shut down.

Because, if it was chocolate, it would taste better.

I'm just wondering where they came up with this nonsense myself.

Vanilla is pretty much your "regular" ice cream flavour, yus?

That's just what most PC games (mainly RTS) are called once they get an expansion. It's just a substitute for "plain" or "regular".

If you don't update you will see people with yellow names and lvl above 100, skills above 30 and with weapons you are not able to see, just like in PSO with PSO ver.2 http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

AoI is an expansion. It would be the same thing, just with a ton of new stuff.

Hm, but what happens when someone goes to a room that's of someone with AOI? Are they able to wear and see the new clothes?

Feelmirath

You can still play with AOI players, and see their clothes and weapons and stuff, but it's just the areas that are restricted to you that you can't go to (I think).

DX That's gotta suck for them. It's going to be like a, "Haha, you're poor!" kind of thing. Not that I wasn't going to get AOI anyways, but I am definitely gonna do my best to get it the first day it comes out.

If AOI is just a expansion for PSU,then why did i read recently that you can play PSU(AOI)with out having PSU?

Not all expansions require a new player to buy the previous version AND any/all expansions in order to play. This one just requires you to have one or the other. If you have PSU, then you can only play PSU but assumably have been playing it for almost a year now. AoI allows new people to join without costing nearly $70 or more depending.

Yeah, AOI has PSU and the expansion, included in one package. Do research... jeez.

i also like vanilla more in my opinion...

also im pretty sure the regular PSU will get updates so that they can see all the new stuff, but they cant interact with them.

Is that also true for the 360 version? Does that mean I wont have to use the noisy and slow disk drive anymore? : D

"Lets all go to the Casino"
"OH wait we can't bring you cause you don't have expansion LOLOLOLOLOLOL"
*Cries in corner

aww. You know i would make it so that your friends can at least SEE the lobbys. Just don't let them depart for missions from those AOI lobbies. At least let everyone play the casino place

The lobby data and the mission data for AoI areas isn't even on the current PSU disk, theres no way that they'd be able to do it. Its just like PSOGC and episode 3 lobbies.

I don't think so, I think what were downloading is only the additional content, which is good because it would be a rather large download if we had to download the entirety of PSU along with the new content.

Ok so stupid question here... the game has both versions in it so when I download it into my pc will it over write the old PSU or will I have to unistall the old one afterwards?

Ambition of the Illuminus will lack Episode 1's Story and Extra Mode--but should contain all of its fields.

I don't think anyone knows for certain how it will work just yet. I think the trial in April might have had an "install on top of PSU" option, but one, I'm not sure about that at all, and two, what happened in the trial might not necessarily be true for the retail release.

I sure hope it works like that. ^
Otherwise, I'm going to have to try and repartition my Windows harddrive in order to be able to fit the game. (Macbook running Bootcamp)
