The citizens of Moatoob have been decimated by the outbreak and brutal containment of the SEED-Virus in Dagora City. Many survivors escaped through the Galenigare Mines and have gathered at the old hunting camp at the Northern Ice Plains of Vio Tonga. All Beasts who serve as GUARDIANS are called to come join their people in a communal bonfire to honor the dead and reconnect with the living.

The Veteran GUARDIANS, Leo Berafort and Tonnio Rhima, have negotiated with the captains of the Moatoob Trade Federation to put aside their differences and host this gathering under a banner of truce. In appreciation for their courage and invaluable partnership in the universal battle against the SEED we will be honoring the Beast race on this day at this symbolic gathering throughout Gurhal. In the name of peace and unity; all Beasts, whether citizen or outlaw, will be welcomed at the Bonfire September 25th. (LOL Halo 3)

It seems that the NPCs Leo and Tonnio will be at this story related event. I'll get on my alt Beast character and check it out, then get on Halo 3.

This isn't fair! The only event i've been interested in since Fire Break and I can't even make it! Dang it Halo 3, why'd did you have to come out the same day and make my brother take his 360 so I can't play! Microsoft better accept my Xbox 360 this time and fix it or i'll be all sorts of mad!

I don't think they'll actually be AT the event, it just says they organized it, it seems to me to be the Moatoob equivalent of the Parum Unity festival thing and that Neudaiz Light festival.

Wtf?! When will JP get this event? Since you guys are getting it this tuesday, JP should get it a month ago, maybe 2 at worst. I'll be really pissed if it takes more than 3 months into the past to happen!!1!

Sounds like fun though, just a little odd terminology with it. Its a pretty lobby too. Much better than the guardians HQ.

Someone needs to take an in game screenshot of someone pointing a handgun at a beasts head, add that subtitle to it, and post it in the "Beast Bonfire" thread on the official site's forums.

Watch this "event" be a trap by the old cast AMF that is now being controlled by the Illuminus to blast the surviving beasts away. We may need a new fleshie AMF escort to the lobby, everyone come with your AMF uniforms just incase.

Laughably piss-poor scheduling. So bad, in fact, I almost suspect its done deliberately just to hose the players off. I'm less pissed with no events whatsoever.

SEGA asshat A; "I've been thinking. Let's host something, I dunno, in a place that perhaps only 0.025% of the player base visits on a weekly basis, but... let's do it at a time when the only people able to play are children breaking state law by committing truancy."

SEGA asshat B; "Hm, Tuesday morning?"

SEGA asshat A: "Brilliant!"

Kairi_Li

People have a right to complain if its taking place on a weekday during school and work hours. Some of us have bills to pay or school to attend, and no one will be stupid enough to break state law for such a small event with no rewards. And at a lobby that no one can easily access, when we haven't even got the update to warp us there in exchange for meseta.

Nothing against the event itself, but it could have been timed alot better. If there is a game that will make kids wanna break laws and skip school to play, its gonna be Halo 3. And not some small short and hard to get to event on PSU.

As for me, I'm one of the few lucky ones who happens to get the day off during the event. (Retail work.) However, this will require me to login at 9 AM in the morning thanks to the time difference.

...In other words, if I had work that day, it wouldn't matter, I start on a later shift.

I also have to login my boyfriend's character in case there ARE gonna be prizes, cause he will defintly miss out cause he has work ALL day.

Some of us have bills to pay, which is more important. If Sega was smart, all one day events should be on weekends so more people have the OPTION to participate. Right now, most of us don't.

Crokar was just joking at the possiblity that this is Sega's way of trying to distract people from Halo 3. It wasn't meant to be a complete bashing of the event itself, just the fact that its timed that way and its a very... SMALL event... With no reward announcements to attract people.

Fleur-de-Lis also had a legit complaint. He has to WORK. No way anyone is gonna give up their paycheck just for this small event. Maybe Halo 3, but this? No.

Seriously, theres a difference between legit complaints with reasons, and mindless bashing. One was made with real life reasons, the other was a joke and a jab. So chill guys.

Well I think any sane person would never ditch work or school for any game. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

But, with Halo 3, kids wanting to skip school so they can frag each other on LIVE is not inconcievable either. So it was a sorta half joke...

My last post was for the people who wanted others to stop saying "negative" things about the event, when all they're complaining or joking is the horrible timing.

If those posters have alot of free time, good for them, but untill they realise most of us have to work for a living, they can't go around telling others to stop complaining on the crappy timing this event is.

And they should get a job so they can get a taste of what real life is really like... See if they can stop themselves from complaning next time an event is on a weekday...

I've come to find that hostile complaints without warrant or progressive action is this community's modus operandi.

these events have always been hosted from morning til early evening and no later(pacific time). this one is no different. if you'd like them to change it, rather than complain why not talk to them about it? I think they're off the clock after 5pm though so good luck getting them to stay overtime.

CelestialBlade

People work at all hours of the day. When are they supposed to schedule it, at a time that doesn't exist? It could be at 4am and someone would be going WAAAAH I HAVE TO WORK ZOMG either way, so, just get over it http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

get over what? they schedule events around work schedules in moany cases. especially since this seems to be a US/EU thing only, I'm pretty sure this was wipped up quickly ad they took a show of hands to see who would be willing to participate. These guys aren't civil engineers at a building site. they're moderators at a tiny little forum based in california. the rules are different there.

But you've missed my point entirely. I was saying that if the times were inconvenient for a large number of players, maybe they should try to get the GMs to accomodate them rather than gripe. but no one would ever go that far...it's much easier just to complain.

I have mailed them regarding this as soon as I read the news. Whether or not Sega will bother reading it is a different issue... And I wouldn't be surprised if they don't.

And the other events were fine cause they were on WEEKENDS. Not Weekdays when people work all day, or have classes. A major event like Firebreak lasted a long time so it wasn't an issue.

I mean unless its Valentines day or some other holiday, they have no reason to make a weekday an event, along with ridiculous times and the shortness of it. Just about anyone doing a full day shift can't possibly make it, and students will barely make it either. None of the times are early enough or late enough. The other previous weekday events were full days, or random times. Those allocated times for the Beast event is impossible to work with for most people who need to pay their bills or have class.

And then you add along the release of Halo 3...

I have a day off so I can participate, and I will defintly bring it up directly to the GMs. Along with questions about a famitsu type event... They need to tell us if we're getting anything at all, instead of expecting us to keep playing 10 bucks a month to eventually find out 2 days before it starts, IF it comes at all... The general lack of communication, or the slowness of it, its grating when the Japanese get much better customer service and a more informative website.

The Japanese site is certainly more robust, but they don't appear to post information about updates any sooner than we get them--usually within the span of a week or so. Special events like the Famitsu Cup get a bit more advance notice than the monthly or so content push, of course, but the one example we do have (Operation Firebreak) received a similar advance notice as well.

I can't say anything about the Japanese customer service, though, as I've never actually dealt with them.

The reason we get our updates fast is cause people here check the JAPANESE 360 site for faster update info. The US site tends to not tell us anything untill either one day before maintanence, or worse, AFTER the maintenance is done. Most MMO official sites tell you what's about to come, not tell you when its out.

I mean, you don't see game announcements or movie trailers play right before the game or movie releases or plays in the theater, do you? You see it monthes in advance. MMO update info should be known at least 3 days prior, which is what we get if we check the JP 360 site.

When it takes a bunch of fans to translate and inform players faster than the people who are being paid, by OUR money, to do the same job, there's a problem.

Which hasn't actually been the case for the last four or so updates. The US site has updated within the afternoon. Granted, there's no excusing before that, but the situation has improved.

More late for the USA is very very late for Europe, they have to decide a "normal" time for both areas since this server is for both continents not only for the USA :

get over what? they schedule events around work schedules in moany cases. especially since this seems to be a US/EU thing only, I'm pretty sure this was wipped up quickly ad they took a show of hands to see who would be willing to participate.

Wasn't even replying to you dude. I referred to those complaining that the times weren't inconvenient for them, citing work schedules and such.

She's pretty, but if there will be a contest about the look of your beast, you surely do well if you hide from my Kyrlia. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

About all the complaining here: Yes, I agree with it. The time this event is holded isn't very good.
I hope I will have time to participate in it. D:
