View Full Version : How is the community on the Xbox360?

I bought this game and still own it for the PS2 but I don't know I could never get into it. I put 1200 hours into PSO but PSU just didn't seem the same. However, with the casual nature of the Xbox360 and the fact that I can get achievements...I was thinking of maybe giving this game a shot on the Xbox360 (especially with the expansion coming out soon). Should I?

Wow thanks for the quick response...I guess in that case I'm just waiting for Conan (I guess that's the next Xbox360 MMO).

I heard you gotta have mad tight rapping skills to get a good team on PSU 360. I suggest you play Parappa The Rappa first, then play PSU 360 online.

Um did you read the title of the post jackass before you decide to flame me. All I wanted to know was how the Xbox360 community was. I'm not going to play a game that no one else is playing.

Not flaming, just suggesting, that you think for yourself... oh well.

Please, don't play... that's an option.

Save your money for Conan.

Our milkshakes bring all the boys to the yard, and they're like, it's bettah than yours.

And "dead" is a relative term. If the 360 is dead, then what would you call the PS2/PC servers? We still have 2 full Universes (and some residual on Universe 3).

That may be, but clearly, Halo 3 is going to kill our population.

Clearly.

Yes - all those people who bought PSU for a Phantasy Star style online RPG will move to Halo 3, since it offers the exact same experience, but with MASTER CHIEF!

The achievements are, IIRC, all in offline mode. And to be honest, if it didn't call out to you on the PS2 it won't do it on the 360. Try it again on the PS2, and if it still doesn't convince, don't get it for the 360, there's nothing revolutionary over here to bowl you over.

And those affirmations about the community dying? They always prop up whenever a hot new game comes out, and none have, and none will, kill the game on the 360.

Until Mass Effect, then we're done for.

I wouldn't get so cocky about Halo 3 not putting a dent in the PSU population. Halo 2 razed the PSOX population. Also, Halo 3 is not just “the hot new game”. From and industry standpoint it’s practically the 2nd coming of console gaming. It’s already shattered several records (created by it predecessor) and is poised for more. Personally, I don’t find Halo to be the pinnacle of gaming like some do, but you still have to respect its power and influence in the industry.

Overestimate all you want, PSU has a 4000+ user base, there won't be any noticeable drop in the population. School has more "withdrawing" power than Halo 3 ever will, and the dent it put on the population is insignificant.

And Mass Effect won't do it, either.

I agree. I think the game will hold its own for any platform. If you want the achievements then find a place that will rent the game to you. Or, I hear you can pick up used copies really cheap. Also I think the community is going well and it isn't that difficult to find a party.

yea, the community is good, my only complaint is the 90% of uni1 population on seabed/HSM, unless that peoblem is prevalent in PS2/PC as well...

also, kugo hot springs is dead for most of the day with slight activity at primetime. very hard to hunt a 10* spear due to the 2ppl req...

I Don't feel the need to play Halo. Imho there are games out there of the same genre that are way better. Not knocking those who like it just what i think. this game will move on like all the other PS games. I play with a core group of people. I won't have any trouble getting a group. Besides my sister plays also so there is one automatically if no one else is on. I.E. during school hours.

yEAH true halo 3 is coming out next week and population will shift ,but thats only for a month. And mostly boys who like halo will leave . When aoi comes out i see population doubling in size.

Halo 3 will take some (SOME not MOST or ALL) of the population, but I don't think it'll hurt it too bad.

I think Final Fantasy 11 is the only thing on the Xbox 360, that is going to kill this game. And, it has an average of 500,000 people a day, playing across all 3 platforms already. So, we are not really in any danger, unless a much better, and much more fun, or a free MMO type game comes along, and crushes our community.
