Hi, my name is Thoma.

I've been reading these forums (They came up on a google search) and looking through the site to get information, since I have just purchased PSU and have been playing it online.

I'm currently a level Beast level 14, and I was mainly just wondering if there were any advice/tips I could get, as in, stupid newbie things I shouldn't be doing?

I've also been having trouble finding a party, Is there someplace a lot of people get together at that I just don't know about?

Also, I had a couple more gameplay related questions:
1) Is there a limit to the number of photon skills/technics I can learn, and if so, is there a way to Unlearn them? Would I even need to?

2) Is there anyway to get that stupid NPC in my party to attack while using a missle weapon? That's getting pretty irritating..

3) I'm thinking of being a Wartecher, about how long if Force/Hunter are the only two classes you use, will it take you to get there? (I mean, what will the actual level you're at be around)

Anyway, to those who read, thank you for your time.

Sorry if I was a bit long-winded, I just have a lot of questions.

~Thoma.

Welcome to PSU http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I THINK the current hot spot is at Foran Waterfall; that's on the planet Parum, when you do the missions Mad Creatures -> Plains Overlord -> Endrum Remnants -> Duel Sentinel. The mission there is Duel in the Ruins. If you don't have any friends to help you, you should try to make some on PSOW to help you through!

1) The limit is 36 PAs. You can unlearn them when you have your max amount of PAs, and then you try to learn a new one (To overwrite an old one). In the expansion, you'll be able to turn PAs that you don't use into PA Disks, I believe.

2) Basically, whether they use melee or guns or magic, all NPCs have to be relatively close to the enemies to attack, so it's pretty dumb.

3) You can do missions with high MP rewards (Duel in the Ruins, the current hotspot, or Her Secret Mission, a Party Mission at the Guardians Branch in Ohtoku City on Neudaiz) and get Wartecher before you're level 20

Everything has pretty much said, except that it is easier to go to Foran by going Trains -> Endrum -> Duel. While Mad Creatures is located in East Holtes, Train Rescue is located in West Parum.

OH RIGHT. I was gonna mention the alternative path, but it had slipped my mind http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Thank you PJ and Turambar for the information, I really appreciated it, I guess it's time to go check out Parum!

Also, a couple more questions

Is playing a Class/Race combination that's poor, say, a Beast Force, really going to suck compared to a Newman force, or is it mostly just people worrying about min/maxing?
Does it play differently?

See, I've thought of just trying to be a Beast Fortetecher, because, well, I like tossing spells about.

Hopefully, I'll run out of questions before you guys run out of patience. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Fortetecher has the lowest ATA of all classes
Beasts have the lowest ATA of all races

That's why it's hard, it's not because beasts have 2nd lowest TP, It's their ability to use Bows/Cards that make them not the greatest Fortetecher. A Cast Fortetecher is better off because they compensate the lost ATA. Newmans have the 2nd Highest ATA, therefore, combined with their incredible TP, they make incredible Fortetechers.
