View Full Version : Variable technique damage?

Here's an odd thing that happened to me today. I was playing Ultimate mode offline and going through the Mines and the Ruins. I noted my Gifoie doing 527 to Gilchichs and Arlans. My Foie, however, was doing about 503. Now the weird thing is, after I beat the game and went back to do the Mines and Ruins again, my fire techniques and ONLY my fire techniques were doing less damage than before. My Gifoie was only doing 457 and my Foie was doing something like 412.

Now I know you'll ask "Were you using any different equipment, weapon, or merge?" and the answer to that is no. I use no weapon when fighting with spells because my FOmar casts faster without a weapon equipped and I have nothing that boosts the Gi-tech series of spells worth equipping. I don't even have a merge for it. I was using my normal Divinity Barrier on both games and my slots had the Angel/Mind++ units equipped in 3 slots and a Wizard/Technique on the 4th slot. This was identical for both games and my MST count was the same in both games as well. I remember because I noted it down in an AIM conversation I was having with someone at the time.

I don't really understand it, so I tried to start the game over a 3rd time and see if it went back, but it stayed at the 457 Gifoie mark and 412 Foie amrk. I really don't understand it. My ice and lightning technique damage was identical in all the games, though.

If anyone knows what causes this, if they've experienced this glitch (if it is or not), or how to cause it, please let me know! 527 Gifoie was awesome, even though 457 isn't bad. ;0;

Interesting... I think something similar may have happened to me in the Spaceship area once, but I can't recall.
Only thing I can think of is section ID's affecting spell damage, but I would think that someone would've discovered that already. Hmmmm... I'll do a little experimentin' tonight. o_O

Doesn't seem very logical and plus, as I mentioned, the damage was varied in offline games. Meaning the same ID, mine, for the game. ;p

Damn, I missed that part. Umm... beat time, maybe? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif Possible, but doesn't sound too logical. At all. Very weird...

Well did you cast Jellen/Zalure during one run-through and not the other?

Only other possibility I can think of is that you were drunk (?)

Jellen and Zalure do not affect technique damage. And, no, I wasn't drunk.
