Anyone know yet if we can learn those disks on a different character from the one that leveled the PA? Really curious.

1. Illuminus just came out, importers don't have their hands on it.
2. You cannot even register your illuminus code with ST yet, they haven't added it to the billing system.

There is also no posts about the disk system currently on the main PSU BBS. Please try again later. Knowing it now as opposed to in a day will not change anything.

Just asking because beatrixkiddo seems too certain PAs are character exclusive. Meaning there could be a source... somewhere.

No offense to beat, but sometimes I think he doesn't pay attention close enough. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I AM a bit surprised to not see any info on the forums, but its not quite 5pm yet. So theres probably going to be some influx in a few hours.

not guaranteeing anything, but it seems like the lvls earned stay on the char, you can do whatever with the disc, but the disc is the same as a fresh disc you got at the shop, so no, your lvl 30 zonde can't be put on an alt or your friends char, at least thats what the last translation on this seemed to say/imply

Makes sense. Lv1 chars with Lv30 PAs is stupid =/

Like L1 FOnewearls with L30 techs? XP

Hrith
Sep 27, 2007, 08:10 AM
Was that possible? I mean, the MST requirements fro Lv30 techs was rather steep ;s

except according to early reports the disks are account bound. they wouldn't do that without good reason.

Edit for dumbassery. I forgot about Mags. Yes. Me. Mister Rati Freak. I forgot Mags, rofl, when I was calculating stats.

FOnewearl could learn several L30 techs with just a 150 MIND Mag, nevermind 195. >_>;

Not that she would have, you know, had the TP for them. XD

The lvl of the PA is saved to your character so when u change it into a disc it just turns into a plain disc. So u can throw away that disc and buy a new one and your PA will remain the same level.

where did you read that? you need to give a source when saying something so mayyer of fact.

according to info we got earlier, the only thing we know is the disks are account bound and can be put in the common box. that means we can't give these disks to our friends. if that's true, there has to be a reason.

I am hoping it is only for the character that leveled it. I am sure they knew this it is obvious what would happen if your noob caster has lvl 30 techs. has to be some way to limit it to char. only common box maybe for storage only.

If I find out that we cant transfer our PA lv's to another character...Then my Alt is never being used again. Its the only reason I made my Alt since my main PA slots are full -_-

it's saved on your character? meaning the PA that your character pops out is the same blank one you can buy at the NPC shops? So it's possible to level everything up on one character, it's just a matter of only having 36 equipped?
*wets pants*
*deletes alts*

even if it were saved to the disk, which I'm pretty sure it is, you just need to store the disks in your PM the trick was always that you could only have 36 at a time. even still you could have every PA at lvl 40 in disk frm in your PM for one character...soo...nothing new.

which ever method it means that we won't have to make alts or delete hard earned level everytime we change paths on our mains.

I'm still throwing out some high-level skills on friday 'cause I want the new ultimates NOW instead of november

yeah, same. still, I'm really hoping the disks carry the data. I remake one of my characters enough that I really don't want to have to keep lvling my PAs each time. my feeling is I already earned the PA lvls. I shouldn't have to do it again as long as I'm just moving it somewhere else. x.X

I want to be able to move my PA disks :/

My newman has 8 level 30 skills that I'd much rather have on my beast.

Most of this comes from the discussion on page 2 of the Illuminus FAQs.

Q17. How does the PA disk conversion work?
A17. After you've learned a Photon Art, you have the ability to convert it back into disk form, freeing up space in your learned PAs. When you convert a PA back into a disk, its level will be retained so that if you decide to relearn it later, you'll pick back up where you left off. Just like current PA fragment-traded PAs, these converted, leveled PAs cannot be dropped, traded or sold in player shops as they are tied solely to your account. They can only be kept in your personal nanotransformer (inventory), your PM's storage or your room's common box. While in your common box, it is possible for other characters on your account to access them. However, it is currently unknown if they can actually use the disk to learn a pre-leveled PA.

And there you have it.

Niloklives
Sep 27, 2007, 11:20 PM
I knew all that, people were trying to say they knew more than that and they were quite certain that characters retained levels, not the disks

But I got one better for you. disks keep PA lvl. so I can move lvl 31 bullets to a lvl 1 character. confirmed by menochi. I'm juiced

That's pretty sweet then, all the time I spent leveling my Human Fortetecher and then making him into a Wartecher won't go to waste if I play a Newman Fortetecher instead.

I guess now we too can have L1 FOnewearls with L30 techs. XP

Cept their limits will come with their class. Aside from that, this should be pretty interesting. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Sounds like Archy's PAs won't go to waste then, I'll just transfer them to Adelia (my new fG in AoI) cos I had 2 lvl 30 rifles on arch and since he's gonna be pure AT it would've been pretty bad losing all that work.

Yeah, now when/if you recreate a character, you won't have to lose PA progress. And with the new exp rates, getting up to 60ish is pretty fast.

hey it's just another one of those 'In Your Face' to all those nonbelievers, now I feel sorry for those who deleted their lvl 30 PA's to make room for new/Ult PA's...if there were any, :/

Its not really any different than gathering a bunch of MST/TP/ATP etc mats, and a fully leveled mag and giving them to a new character.

Makes it a lot less grindy for alts.
