I could use some help with De Rol Le the cave boss! My brother and I have been playing for almost 2 hours to get to him and now that we have made it to him. It's impossible to fight him, we can't even survive his first attack! He throws his spines onto the boat and we can't destroy them in time before they blow up and kill us in one hit! I'm using a level 14 FOnewearl and he is using a level 10 HUmar, are we even supposed to be fighting him at this level? Any help would be appreciated!

Normally, it is said that you should fight him at level 16+. You can try leveling up first, and since your a FO, rafoie works well against him (if you have it, if not try gifoie).
Also, have the HUmar use a sword type weapon on him since it hits most of his parts.

I don't have Rafoie yet, I have Rabarta though.
I'm so frustrated that we went through all 3 caves just to run into a brick wall!

It kills him in one hit? o.o
Wow, he must do a lot more damage in multiplayer mode... he did maybe 30 damage to my level 8 HUmar in offline mode. Try to kill just one of the spines in the corners and hide in that corner so the others don't hit you.

I think there is an area that you wont get hurt by them if you stand there. Not sure, its one of the ends of the ship I think...

I'm not sure about a safe spot, but if you pay attention you can see that they don't explode simultaneously. If you time it right, you can run to a spot where one of them just exploded before another one you're near does the same. The problem is, if those kill you in a hit...Chances are the rocks it drops will too. Luckily those are easy to dodge, if you have enough moon atomizers and fluids (Supposing one or both of you have Resta) you'll do fine. Of course, it might be a long battle if you do little damage...
I still haven't payed enough attention to know if knocking the skull casing off is the halfway point, 1/4 way through, whatever... Also not sure if hurting the other parts is as effecting as directly damaging his head.
Although I wonder if you break off the tail pieces and damage the bare part of it there if it counts just as much as hitting the exposed head...
Hmm, maybe one of these days I'll test that. (Boy that thing sure is fun in Ultimate, "Super beam Kamehameha!")

I guess my brother got lucky, but he survived the spines with one health left, he used a Moon Atomizer and got me back and we actually made it to the point where he latches onto the boat. Foie level 3 did more 80 damage but Robarta only did 30, the rocks can be dodgable by staying in the corners. We still eventually died though!
I beat him single handedly when my Humar was lv.15, and it took some time.
i had 10 monomates, resta, an upgraded saber and an upgraded handgun. While it was swimming about, i shot it in the face with the handgun. When it lifted itself out of the water to shoot the purple beams, i shot three times and ran to the opposite side of the raft. when it fell onto the raft, i switched over to the saber and let it rip on the face shell and the sides with two combos on whatever one i decided to attack, then i ran about til one of the spines fell. then i repeated it. like i said, i kept switching from my shock saber+7 (lightning extra attack doesn't hurt as much i figured out) to my handgun+2 to hit him for 50s and 90s close range and 20s to 30s long range. I died the first few times, but it worked out.
It might be harder fighting it with two people. Two people mean you have to worry about them to, and the level difference is a tad too much responsibility. I just helped my cousin get to lv.7, but it took so much time and effort because he kept dying. Maybe we should have stopped trying to go through the temple on episode 2...

In multi mode, the monsters have more HP and stronger attacks. I had my brother use his Brand on his head and than switch to his Sword for the spines, I kept using Resta, Monofluids, and Foie but we still couldn't hold him off. I heard it can take about 45 minutes just to beat him!

Yeah, all this stuff has been stated above, but meh.
As a Hunter, use a Partisan/Sword or weapon that attacks all points in his body.
As a Force, keep moving. Read its (De Rol Le, that is) pattern, and try to learn it. It's hard the first few times, but once you get around and understand what it does, you should have no problem as long as you level up. It's weak to Foie-based techniques, but Zonde ones work decently too.

Listen dude, the spines no problem just both you guys work on one in the corner and then stay there they shouldn't hit you, when he throws his little pink things just dodge em, if you can. The pink laser beam things is no problem. The parts you will probably have trouble with is when he shoots 3 spines and they circle one player. No way to dodge this one unlees you kill all 3 spines. He will drop rocks. Just run around. When he beaches himself just attack him 6 times then move around he will shoot these little things at you and they will stick into the ship. THESE WILL KILL YOU. After the first time run up and hit him 3 times. You only have time for 3 times so run. Then hit him with the 3 hit strategy until he goes into the water. He is a hard boss and personally I think he is the hardest boss with the exception of episode 2 guys. So stay in there, hang tough and remember, Vol Opt is a WHOLE lot easier

"The little things that stick on the ship are what he did for his first attack, until my brother got lucky and somehow survived it!"
I got surrounded by the 3 spines one time but I used Rabarta 3 times to get rid of them before they killed me! I'll just level up by fighting the Red Dragon and than I'll go back to the Caves.

It took me like 45 minutes to beat him with a level 8 HUmar... on the other hand, it took my FOnewearl like... a minute to kill him on V. Hard. Rafoie destroys him.
Of course, he'll be much tougher with more than one player... Levelling would be a good idea, if only to keep the fight time to a reasonable amount... and maybe find a disk of Rafoie in the caves.

I prefer using a Rappy's Fan, as soon as it jumps on the raft, it's dead within 10 - 20 seconds on Very Hard. Forget how long it took on Ultimate...Definately much longer since the durn thing pokes so fast!
when i first went against him i died a lot too. against the stationary spines run to the end of the boat in the very middle and it wont hit you. if his mask breaks off you know you are about half way. everything he throws at you can be avoided, remember that. if you still cant beat him, level up a few more levels.

Best strategy against both Ultimate Caves & Temple bosses.

when he drops the 3 spines around one guy get the other guy away from it as far as possible and be sure to have moon atomizers at hand.

Heehee, I created a RAcasael today, my brother's been playing more than me and leveled his HUmar to level 18. We played multi but since my RAcasael was brand new we had to start in Forest. In less than 3 hours we went from Forest 1 to Re Dol Le, beat him, and I leveled up to level 10 and my brother got to level 20! He lended me a Panic Autogun and he used some grinders on his Brand and got it to +15 (which I thought was kinda foolish!) He had to use 9 Moon At's on me during the fight with Re Dol Le, one hit from any of his attacks practically killed me in one hit! But now I have a level 10 RAcasael that I can go through the Mine's with, I guess I kinda like it better than my FOnewearl.

I lost badly the first time, even w/ 10 monomates+fluids and 2 scape dolls. Embarassing. I didn't know you had to kill ALL the parts...>_<
I killed it with Gizonde easily armed with that knowledge.

You just have to kill his head, don't you? o_0 I fought him on Normal a few minutes ago, you just have to focus your attacks on the head. Though attacking his other parts probably helps as well.
He's much more fun at level 51 than at level 20 or so. ^^

His other body parts are weaker than his head, especially the plating right behind his head, any Foie tech does about twice as much damage to it than his head.
