Notes:
Cast parts have a CV version instead of additional colors. In general, the main and sub colors are reveresed on these parts.
All alternate colors of currently existing clothing were available right from release of AoI, with only a few actual new clothes. The rest will assumably be coming in updates.
The amount of parts a clothes has (shirt, pants, shoes, etc) is apparent by how many description boxes are at the bottom of each clothing. Cast clothes are an exception as all parts are 3 piece except Formal Dress/Wear, Bikini, Regular(Mens) Swimwear, and One Piece.

Now, no more clothing requests. This should answer all the questions.

Much thanks to PJ and Parn for doing the editing of all the screenshots.

This is definitely going to be the hottest new trend, I can see it now.

Formalwear looks hawt, too bad we will never see it online. SPF also looks sexy, I will definitely have to buy that one.

I'm also very unhappy they don't have my favorite HUmar outfit. I really liked the white and blue one. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif http://www.pso-world.com/images/classes/HUmar/costume18.jpg

Um, once this hits page two, could you post these without the image tags? My computer almost exploded.

Well, it still seems that male fleshies have nothing to wear. However, I will say that the Goshikaria outfit is rather neat. Very spanish, should go well with the sabers and whips.

Female fleshies get some interesting things. Very fantasy, I like that. Still, it looks more like something you'd wear to a costume party than a dragon slaying.

I love how casts can invert their colors. They have a white main color that I like, but the blue is rather iffy. Now I can get the blue that I want, and not pay luminass every time I change moods. Not to mention, I can also get parts to look the way I want them. Specifically, I'm going to look forward to those Varatenes and pakorone sets. I wonder if I can finally get a combat ready set while still looking streamline...

If it's any consolation, I'm currently trying to figure out whether or not that yellow and orange color version of the Braves Coat would better emulate the RO Acolyte duster over yellow and black.

AoI still doesn't allow for pants to be worn over boots, right?

It's in the title for a reason. It's called a, "Warning."

Looking forward to Kab Gara for my Beast, Fomar for my human, inverted Vilogis, Kyasukata AND the spikey-horn headpiece thing AC9Breaker posted way back in the Illuminus snapshot thread for my Cast. Very excited http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

For my female, the black and red amorus shirt, and then I just need to decide on pants that are awesome enough to go with it http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I may just have to get that black Braves Coat. Not even to wear on a regular basis; just to wear it one day and scream "bankai!" over and over again. Aside from that, I don't really see anything among the male fleshies I really care to buy...just one of old HUmar outfits. Sadly, my favorite outfit isn't there; just the blue one I used for a change of pace now and then.

The stuff for the females however, is *excellent*, the new caseal sets especially. I wonder if I'll be able to buy everything.

Thanks for the thread Menochi!

I automated a lot of it, setting the template up for each set was the hardest part... If you did all of the female ones manually, I have to salute you for going through that, heh. It still took me a good bit of time, but not nearly as much as it would have manually.

Oh yeah, and a high five to Menochi for screen grabbing each one. I think all the work we did was definitely well worth it. And I'd like to emphasize again that this:

No purple HUnewearl outfit? D:

Bah, looks as if I'll have to settle for the purple Flaxo top. Might use the HUnewearl boots, or purple Bunbun with them.

Upon closer inspection, some of the PSO outfits weren't directly copied. The RAmarl outfit's boots look different.

Thanks for showing this, allows me to spend a bit of time preparing what my characters will be decked out in.

Ah, thank you Parn. Viewing it in that format is much easier.

These are all available from offline mode, correct? I expected there to be a larger amount of them, seeing how we're getting a few sets at launch and they still need to release one every month or so. Regardless, I believe I have what I need.

Oh, and:

It's in the title for a reason. It's called a, "Warning."

Logical fallacy. Being warned of an event doesn't make it hurt any less.

I haven't seen it done with a CAST, so I'd like to see that confirmed as well. I know you can do it, I'd just like to see it in action.

Would be kinda weird, but still pretty awesome to have a male cast going around with no torso part but Hounds or Raptus or any legs.

While doing the swimsuit glitch, female caseals could have no butt. I mean, it disappears. If that is still in play, they'd have to change the graphics around a bit for caseals to have them separated.

I myself would rather have a separable formal gown for fleshies. Get the bottom, add in the samurai slut top, that may look interesting.

So many clothes, so little storage. I know I'll be able to increase my PM's storage, but still. When I like an outfit I usually buy it in every color. Guess I'll have to figure something out. Black Phanis pants finally, always wanted some.

Well, it does give good shape to the female clothes, some definition....Its thankfully not so bad on some clothes, but yeah. Guess I just made her how I wish I was. XD

I did forget, two clothing pieces (for each gender) are available online, but aren't screenshotted. They are just the tops and bototms of the swimwear. Males just get the bare chest and cuffs around the arms for the tops. They weren't included in the screenshots so I didn't make the additional comment. Sorry about that.

And also sorry for killing peoples computers, didn't realize the img tags would take such a toll. Though now that its pretty much page 2 for most people, should I bother going back and editing them out?

Well in my opinion..
there are so many bad clothes and color schemes it's sad. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif
Yeah I said it.
For males, only the SPF set calls to me (the black/green and brown/black ones fucking win). And a few colors of the Miyabikata are all right..
None of those cast parts look good to me, not a one.
I'll only get a couple of the female clothes, namely the black and white phanis top, and the dark purple flaxo jacket. That black storia set is the only new outfit I'll get, the rest are quite bad.

Still, negative opinion aside, I'm glad you(any who were involved) took the time to gather all those up. It is appreciated.

I'm actually pretty disappointed in our choices as well. The only way to look combat worthy as a male is to have a Snake look, a Sephiroth look, or a Matador look. Females, fairy or samurai ninja. The PSO outfits are a nice remedy for this, but I'm not a fan of most of these either.

I'm still loving the cast parts, though. Females still have no useless sets.

People don't need to look combat worthy, though. Line shields. That was the perfect excuse to let the artists have some fun and create something that didn't adhere to the same old tired armor designs you see in every online game.

They don't need to look ready for combat, but a professional musician doesn't have to wear a tux. It's just nice to look the part.

True, and that's why we have some options. If you want to look like an armored warrior, well... you can. If you want to look like a soldier, you can. If you want to look like you're about to go to the beach, you can.

I have to say, I prefer it this way.

Well, those Kab Gara pants look pretty battle ready. The SPF suit looks pretty nice, but you won't be seeing my male human in those, they look a tad bit too western for his style, although maybe my male newman might wear them. I'd also like the new colors for the already existing Neudaiz clothes for my human.

Because I don't have the option that I want. And it's all about me.

Heh, I'm glad I decided on caseal, actually. We're getting some pretty nice things, without it being as clunky as male casts. And unlike male casts, I can still get some casual clothing whenever I want. It's a shame I don't have this flexibility on other races, but it's not like I'd level them anyway.

I'd say Solid Snake is better served by a gray AMF set instead of SPF. SPF reminds me of Metroid or Halo, actually.

And Parn: I'm feeling the same dread you are. It's probably going to happen; and the PSO outfits will likely not be available online until late into AoI's life. If Chapter 3 explains why Ragol's areas are showing up in PSU, it'll probably be late in the story and the outfits will likely be available then ...

Thanks a lot for posting this! I've been looking forward to seeing what the new options will look like and well, now I know XD

I'd definitely have to agree with Parn on the customization though. The idea of Line Shields is great because, for example:

Bob walks into armour shop and buys Breast Plate

Joe73 walks into armour shop and buys Breast Plate

So forth and so on

Multiply that by 200 or more and you've got a conformity. There's no room for a uniqueness for your character, everyone wears the same bronze looking armour.

INSTEAD..with line shields, we can go to battle in a bathing suit, a maid outfit, some other skimpy looking type of clothing and it doesn't matter. Why? Because we CAN and we choose to do so, because the option is there.

We all don't HAVE to walk around in the bronze looking armour. You can go to the battle looking however you please, which..I'm all for.

So, once again..I thank you for posting about these and Parn..

I like the choice for an outfit. It looks great http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

So I have some questions...

It seems with female CAST Formalwear, you can choose the color depending on your main color. Is this also the case with the male CAST Formalwear?

Also, based on the first post, it doesn't seem male and female cast can mix one-piece parts with other parts, like fleshies can. I guess I answered this question...hopefully I'm wrong?

Yes. Now bear in mind I don't have AoI, I'm just passing along information that was released some time back.

We know that not all of the clothes are available online currently. We also know that the cowgirl outfit (with or without the hat, the hat wasn't in the screenshot) and the shrine maiden outfit are to be available to players. What we don't know is when/how. The Way Wild is just tacky, but the Vigor Coat? Me too.

<serious>I absolutely would like to see the Vigor Coat and boys' Boaboa Vest available for the girls--granted, with some rugged top underneath, as long as they retained the washboard abs. And then there's stuff like the Gojyee, SPF, boys' Fuji Fiji, Goshikaria, Braves and Nobles Coats, boys' Braves Jacket, Formal Coat, HUmar Replica, Innocent. Heck, even outfits like the Nec Nec, Speeders, and boys' Gojgoj. Some of it would probably have stuff worn underneath (i.e., a dress shirt under the Gojyee would be perfect), but that's all stuff I'd like to see available for female wearers, modified as little as possible. (And to be able to make a warrior-girl who actually looks strong enough to swing those ginormous axes--but granted, that'd require a lot more screwing around than new clothing objects would.)

Oh well. Stick it on the wishlist for the next expansion so I may be saddened again when it never happens.

I hear you. One of my frustrations with almost all of the character creators I've dealt with was how rigid they were in character build. Dammit, game designers, hear me; I don't necessarily want my men to be steroid popping freaks nor do I always want dainty looking women that have no business lifting a dagger over their heads, nevermind an axe.

The people that made City of Heroes' character creation system really got it right. That thing should come standard with every online RPG from here on in.

It was good that they added all the extra proportion sliders, yes, but it still fell short. I tried to make a scrawny girl who didn't have big jubblies; failed. Tried to make a big, burly brawler; even at max proportion, her arms seemed a little slender. And of course, still no muscle tone. Which, sadly, makes it just like the comics today.

Looking over the male clothing, I'm... not incredibly impressed with ASFA's lineup. Wai Wadd... maybe. Very cavemanish, but it's alright. Fuji Fiji's checked tights, however, are not something I'd dress my beast in. I guess after all of the testosterone-drenched clothing ASFA had in the base game, they had to do something to even things out a bit. <_<

It looks like I'll be sticking with my Vigor Coat when the expansion arrives. At least for a bit. Might switch over to the green version. I wonder, though, how many other clothing sets there are that aren't available offline? We know of the Volyale and Mikumiko sets for the ladies, but I wonder if there are others?

And just because I like how it looks compared to my current version(The Darkish Grey and Orange), I'm getting the Black and Dark Red version of the Braves Jacket. Just the new sets of male clothes will give me a reason to play as him more often.

And that first new one looks really cool. I think something like that has been what a lot of female players have been begging for. Looks imperial, or something.

Oh, definitely. That is so totally what my future newman acrofighter Dashing Young Swordswoman will be wearing. I could do with it being a little less flowery, but... it'll do. (I still wish girls could wear the boy-clothes, though.)

Maybe an improvement over the purple Flaxo top, since the front is longer. Man, every day I see something else that would allow me to recreate my HUnewearl almost exactly.. kinda makes the 'vanilla' PSU seem like very much of a shell, to be honest..

Why though? None of the other characters' clothes are avaliable, like Ethan's, or Laia's, or Lou's. (Casts REALLY should get an option of wehther they want to wear clothes or metal parts.)

I'd take a variation of Lou's outfit for my cast before I took Mirei's/Karen's Maiden outfit for anyone/thing... <_< But I'm just one person, so my opinion is null and void, so nevermind. =D

We already have a variation of Ethan's outfit. The only REAL difference is the jacket, in which there is no hoodie. Everything else is similar (not the same, hence "variation).

Laia's outfit would be nice. I personally don't mind it if we ever got it, but I don't really mind if we don't, either.

As for Lou's. Yes. I DO want Lou's outfit, and I would ALSO love to be able to have the option of wearing clothes. There's a lot of good clothes and it makes me kind of sad that I'm limited to parts for Rinslet.

And I think Casts are MADE of parts anyways. So adding normal clothes wouldn't it made twice the price? Like uhh.. "wearing" parts and then putting clothes over them?o.0 xD
It's hard to imagine normal clothes being metallic, too. :/ At least I think Casts would look too fleshy lol I think they're fine as they are (well, there are exceptions like the Swimswuit etc.)
And the opposite would be strange, too. =o Change parts into normal clothes? Casts made of clothes? xD

F**k "Mall Goths" I was wearing real-life black long coats since 1996 and not because it was "trendy" or "shocking" or any such crap.

FYI there are mature people that are "gothic-inclined" that like to wear dark alternative clothing, and have since *long before* Hot Topic & lame wanne-be's a.k.a "Mall Goths" ever exited.

"The Matrix" "borrowed" the styles of dark alternative clothing (that existed long before the movie was even a glimmer in the Wachoski brothers' eyes) they didn't invent those styles.

ShadowDragon28

The gothic sub-culture has existed since about 1980, and those that are a part of it still exists today.

The *real* communities just are not all that public or "maintream" ; no matter how much Hot Crapic tries to water the fasions down into superficial non-sense just to be trendy to kids. FYI "The Matrix" just "borrowed" some the fasion styles.

IMO it's about damn time PSU had clothing in color schemes or styles that look kick-ass and fit my aesthetic tastes.

I can actually trace some of my blood to the Visigoths. "Goth" is slang term for Gothic, it has very little to do with the germanic tribes.
"Goth" has only slim relation to the architexture style.

The term is a slang abbreviation of "Gothic", and is refering to particular artististic aesthetics mood and "vibe": elements from *gothic literature*, some post-Victorian funerary elements,
New Romanticism, and later Post-Punk music innovations, and innovations in do-it-yourself
dark alternative fashion styles.

It's unfortunate the slang term "Goth" is in-my-experience often applied to things that shouldn't be applied to, and often used as a basterdized term used by superficial Posers/wanna-be's, fans of "black metal" and Nu-Metal, or just misused/misapplied in general.
It's like calling a black cat a "Labrador", it doesn't mean the black cat is large
hyperactive dog.

*********Back on topic.************
I do hope ST will release *all* the color varients for all clothes online and release them alot faster then with PSU v1. This will help in the diversity amongst player's characters.

Huh..there may be hope yet, if that top one gets some better colors. And the second is simple yet nice, definitely looks force-y; plus it doesn't try to cram a dozen colors together that don't blend at all. That's part what turns me away from most of the other outfits.

ShadowDragon28

The point wasn't just about what I liked, It was about clarification.

People that immediately make weak and baseless assumptions about any piece of clothing that's black or even remotely looks like it fits a
dark alternative fasion style as
"oh all the Mall Goth's will were that" etc is assanine and inane IMNSHO.

People don't need to make such comments IMO. But when they do it's getting a bit insulting to me.

It's in-a-sense like saying " ZOMG that iz so dum! all the beer swiling woman beating Surfers
will where that! "
The "STFU and GTFO" was meant in *half kidding* type of commet FYI. I guess I should of made it clearer. Labels like "Goth" are lame anyways. Sheesh.

Awesome stuff, thanks for putting forth the effort.

What color options does the Admiral set come in? Don't necessarily need screens, just a general idea. And there wouldn't happen to be a black/red version of the Casino one, would there? (Primarily black)

So It's pretty likely that we'll get the divine maiden outfit variants online at some point? Or should I not get my hopes up?

I won’t list colors because I’m TOO lazy, but I like - of the new clothes for girls - these:

Hunewearl
Hanaura
Vata vara
Divine Maiden

The rest of the clothes are fine, but I don’t care for the rest of the PSO clothes, the maid outfit, or Admiral. Sorry about the negative maid remark… I know it has a big fan base. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif It’s just far too reminiscent of Strawberry Shortcut for me, and it’d look awkward on my beast.

The Braves Pants ( not Braves St) that goes with the Braves Coats look nice IMO. The black Braves pants look like slacks and would probably fit with some of the new tops.

Some of those new out fits are loosely based on16-17 Century European fashions, and are kind of odd by todays aesthetic tastes. A bit strange to see such styles in Sci-Fi based game. The post medieval Jester/Circus style clothing is bizzare as well. Certian outfits almost seem like fan service to "Utena" otaku.

The rest look really nice, a few color variations look terrible, but that more subjective personal preference. I'm not fond of brown and blue together, orange and green together, red and orange; basically such colors as that are matched based on aspects of Color Theory... yuck.

I have no idea... actually, the shrine maiden and cowgirl outfit are not hackable as items offline.

While on that subject, the Admiral outfit is actually called "Guardian's Formalwear" and the Divine Maiden outfit is actually called "Mikuna's Set" and both are one-piece.

Haven't checked by item... I checked visually and didn't see anything new. But its hard to hack cast/caseal visually without causing the game to crash a lot.

I believe viusally for cast and caseal, the only safe ones to hack were decimal 244 through 255. Thats only 11, I know there has to be more than that. But nothing between 200 and 244 works, and nothing from 1-40 works. I'm too lazy to check all the number combinations though.

I dunno, it seems to me that they're just trying to serve equal amounts of cake. All possible thanks to the magic of line shields! (Which is more than we can say for Nova from Starcraft: Ghost.)

It's probably for the best, given the kind of clothes women can wear--there's female character players who aren't happy with the curve-and-meat-showing (or the cutsey) choices. At least they can avoid accusations of being perverts/furthering the sexual objectification of women (a standard complaint of female characters in video games) if men are also too sexy for their shirt (so sexy it hurts!).

Ok, I think these are the colors that are missing from the first post:

Admiral (http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f369/Akukame/Clothes24colors.jpg)
Divine Maiden (http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f369/Akukame/Clothes28colors.jpg)
Casino (http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f369/Akukame/Clothes38colors.jpg) (front and back because the outfit has a 2-tone top and 2-tone pants which really need both view to show what the outfit looks like)
Shrine Maiden (http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f369/Akukame/Clothes39colors.jpg)
