SUV damage in AoI?

I was wondering if SUV damage was still big enough to do conciderable damage to enemies? Or is it like PSO, where the PBs started to be useless after Hard mode.

I've noticed a pretty big drop in practicality in SUV weapons in harder modes recently in PSU. It's almost as if the damage that the SUV does is offset by the fact that your buffs go away...

The reason I ask this is because I'm wondering if I sould get the new SUVs that are comming with the expansion. Something tells me those things aren't going to come cheap...

Does anyone else think the SUV's are loosing their potency?
