Formalwear question

Do we get to pick the color, or is it random?

If you're talking about the male formalwear, there's only one color.

But if you're talking about the formal dresses and swimwear, as far as I've seen on the forums, we're not really sure of the answer. Some say you can pick, others say it depends on the color of your clothing that you are currently wearing (if you're wearing more blue colored clothing, you get a blue dress, and so on).

Just a brief correction, the organic version has five color variations (10 in Ambition of Illuminus).

Wait, what? Does organic refer to pre-AoI?

Now I'm just really confused. So are there 5 Formalwear and 5 Bikini Swimwear as well? So now I need to get four hundred and thirty-five (435) Rappy Feathers to get the Rabol Rappy, the other Rappy item, the 5 Formal dresses, the 5 Formalwear, the 10 Bikini Swimsuits, and all the decoration stuff?

Oh, duh, thank you, I hadn't heard it referred to as organic before.

And so yeah, that means I'm going to need more than 400 Rappy Feathers, that's a whole lot of bull (and if you're wondering why I would actually want all 20 of the costumes, if you remember that treasure loot freak from .//hack, I would be her male counterpart) and just kind of ruined the event for me.
