I was expecting gun-fu, you know Chow Yun Fat + john Woo cowboys. Also Dizzy was some sort of cowboy, meaning guns, then gun-fu iz joo.

DizzyDi
Oct 10, 2007, 09:51 PM
Gun-fu is cool too, but KARAZIE is good for any situation.

Still, thats not the reference in the OP.

HERES A HINT. The song in question from which the lyrics were referenced share a movie name in which Mel Gibson starred in his most badass role.

Chris Rock said this?

The Yamimbe means, Yamimbe movie?

Cell phone overcharge your ass DeVito?

Too old for this Shat freeway house on wheels chase scene? Jet-Li dies, but said if this was Hong Kong you'd already be dead?

No, no, no, no, and no.
Keep trying. Another hint: Lucy Liu is also in the movie.

Sord
Oct 10, 2007, 10:34 PM
mel gibson, lucy liu? I know they're names, and thanks to Furturama, Lucy Liu. (though i think she was also in charly's angels or something.) Not really a movie guy (at least not fairly modern ones)

DizzyDi
Oct 10, 2007, 10:35 PM
C'mon you dunno Mel Gibson?
He made Passion of the Christ, starred in ALL the Lethal Weapons, he was the inspiration for the main character from Fist of the North Star, his face was at least.

HAYABUSA-FMW-

There's Bill Murray and Lucy Liu movies like sord said, Angels. Hmm.

Got someone's weird blog page about "not giving an F-and will respond accordingly", James Brown's the Payback from that page and Shanghai Noon.

The catchy quote "I don't know karate, but I know crazy" is actually a line from James Brown's song, "The Payback".
Seen Shanghai Noon, never watched Payback all the way through since it was on TNT/TBS all the time.

Total sampled "The Payback" in their 1995 hit "Can't You See".Heard this song, okay song, monotonous hook and lots bass I remember that.

Tagline for the movie: Get ready to root for the bad guy.

Woop!
Payback is Mel Gibson's most hardcore movie. Passion was hardcore too, but not in the cool way.

His VH1 behind the music or one of those shows, telling he always cried whenever Dance came on since it was soo hard to take/create that track. Great eulogy for his mother though, brought his dad in for the horns before MTV talked about bringing Olu Dara around for Bridgin the gap & blew that up as a big deal

Also had I Can/Thugz Mansion which were on TV all the time.

I bought that CD for my lil brother at christmas time when it first released (he used to buy everything, even busta rhymes and diplomats), wasn't that into Nas then, got Illmatic myself later(played it for months) and tracked that one down to get my own copy.

Do you have The Lost Tapes? I love that album.
Street's Disciple disc 1 is also on point.
Stillmatic too. Almost everything 'cept Nastradamus and God's Sun is gold to me.
Nas is my favorite rapper.

HAYABUSA-FMW-

DISCIPLE STREETS DISCIPLE ESCO!!

Lost tapes is a good one, my friend played that as we cruised around SF in late night early morn this one time. Bought it brand new at the record store even though it was in the used section it was shrink wrapped and never opened, disc flawless, cheap too. Ripped to Xbox to play during driving games.

He admits two of his albums weren't that good, I haven't picked those two up but need to at least get the one with 'Nas is Like.'
