Ugh. I just spent an hour and a half in a buff party. All my support techs are level 11, but GOD. That was brutal. I don't want to know what the higher levels are like. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

i cheat a bit and use the auto-fire feature on my controller for pc -- had to program it into it, but it helps with buff leveling and bullet leveling.

but yeah, listening to music or watching tv really helps.

21 takes a very long time even with an auto function. have a movie or something ready to atch. alot of parties are cool and people will take breaks to talk, so some entertainment can come from the game itself.

Whenever I do it, I put some anime on, and put it on always on top, so it plays on top of my PSU screen.
And I leave just my PP meter left on the screen, and stand right on top of the crystal. And then I watch anime, and glance down every once in a while to see if my PP is empty, and if it is, I change weapons / recharge.

Since when does a force have to have level 21 buffs? Hell, since when does a force have to buff in the first place? I'm being completely serious, I abhor buffing. I'm on Nyreal's side with this.

Yes, but people tended to be more polite about it. They wouldn't kick you out of a party nor whine if your tech levels were too low. Hell, alot of people would simply give you higher level tech disks. They just wanted to play the game.

It wasn't about getting the best time. Most PSO players I knew and know simply enjoy playing. They didn't care about your level or your skills. Don't mistake PSO for the elitist shindig PSU appears to be.

It's called "some people don't care."

Not everyone has enough free time to level their buffs in PSU and it doesn't make you less or a force (or even a player) if you don't have them leveled.

Well, leveling my buffs was definitely one of the most boring things I ever did in PSU. I think it was the overdose of boring that made me quit the game for 6 months.

Leveling techs is also a reason that keeps me from starting over on 360, the thought of doing all this work again scares me.

I also leveled most of my other techs in LL runs, those can be quite boring too, but buff leveling really takes the cake!

I do it like this he he he (well i was lvling rifles here.. but buffs are even more automatic)big screen psu http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif (just listen to when your casting/shooting becomes non continuous and switch recharge weapons) you don't even have to tab out/in of psu this way.

You know what takes a long time?

Getting every Rifle to 30 (except Mayalee Shot since it's useless now). When I need a break I lvl Hunter PAs. I can lvl a Hunter PA to 20 in the time it takes to get a Rifle shot to 11. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif All in all, techs are in the middle somewhere.

How did I handle it? I just stayed as far away from buff parties as possible. Seriously it's not that hard to lvl em up. You just have to I don't know... use them frequently?! Just throw in a few extra battle buffs in the game and you'll be fine.

lol I was thinking the exact same thing. -_-

They did have them day 1... I was victim to going in one. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

But seriously, fT don't have to have lv21+ buffs if they don't want. Why would they? That's like telling someone else how to play. PSU I thought Sega said was a game of customization; the way people act on these boards makes it sound like everyone who plays Class X has to play Style Y.

TECHs are all extremely different in how they level...case in point, Megid vs. Regrant. It took me about 12 hours in Linear Line A to get Megid from 8 to 21, whereas I got Regrant from 1 to 30 in 2 hours at Agata Relics S2 (including the time it took me after 20 to go back to the GC, switch to FT, run through Forested Islands->Rainbow Beast, and continue leveling it).

Anyway, for buffs/support TECHs...if you start as a Force, just level them as you go. If you are changing to a Force at a higher level, you may want to power level them to 11 and just let them naturally level from there. It's not that big of a deal if they're not 21 in my opinion, and there's usually someone in a party with all 21 buffs if someone thinks it is that big of a deal.

All in all, just don't worry about it...if someone whines, just tell 'em that level 11 buffs are better than no buffs at all.
