I long time player of Phantasy Star since the DC. I finally beat the story mode in PSU. Before i pay the price to go online I want to know if it is fun. What is there in the online portion of the game to keep me interested? Why play PSU online instead of Blue Burst which is more like the original with tons of weapons and items?

Thanks in advance.

The offline portion is basically getting you used to the system - battle, weapons, line shields, PM, grindings, synthing, etc. Online expands all of that & more. There are things you'd not find offline, like events & seasonal monsters or other players to play with. ;]

Look at it this way, PSO is B/W TV, PSU is color TV. Offline is a color TV with two channels, online you have 20+. Comes AoI, it's like HDTV in with 50+ channels. ;D

PSU will be even more like PSO come the expansion, as well, with the addition of Just Attacks and PSO levels. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Offline = story mode + extra mode

Based on my knowledge: Online

>>>Advantages

-more equipments, items, decorations

-multiplayers are much more helpful compared to NPCs
(its obvious that the AI of NPCs are stupid)

-events hold from time to time
(eg. 1up Cup, Halloween, etc..)

-extra stuff
(extra shops including one called kubara)
(trading allows players to exchange or purchase stuff between each other)
(daily luck that affects grinding percentages)
(more missions from time to time)
(room remodeling affects appearance and size of room)

>>>Disadvantages

-takes a long time to gain experience points

-takes a long time to gain meseta

-disputes of scapedolls/giresta
(no scapedolls mean abandoned by most teams)

-people becoming more selfish over rare drops
(leader kicking teammates out for S-rank rare item)

-risk of scammers
(newbies losing stuff and meseta over scams)

Thank you very much guys. I believe you guys just found yourselves a new playmate! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
I still got to beat story mode though. Beat already but my computer unexpectedly so now i got to beat story mode again because i heard that in order to unlock story mission for the online portion you need to beat story mode. now if this isn't true let me know so i don't waste my time playing with ethan again.

Thanks again everyone!

That isn't true. Don't waste your time. Nothing you do offline affects online.

Only on US servers...

prepare to get this when you're already doing S2 Missions that drops S ranks

Does happen, but hardly as often as some would exclaim.

Thanks! I'm glad I don't have to replay story mode.
