I'm so awesome that I'm not allowed to wear hats.

And guns are better than swords.

Well maybe this gun:

Not so sure about the others, though. >_>

Twilight Princess Link worked at a ranch.

Though Link in other games doesn't need a job. All his money problems are solved by slashing away some tall grass or breaking a few pots http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_clown.gif

Bo staves are lame for their lack of blades, I'd rather not speak of them.

blunt weapons are awesome, blades just kill the sucker quick. With blunt you can beat the crap out of them so you know they die a very painful death.

BlackHat
Oct 17, 2007, 03:41 PM
Sharp weapons are better. Nothing like puncturing someone until they wish they were dead.

But I like the shiny blades with their sharp edges! D:

But melee weapons don't get you a "HOLY SHIT!" At best you might get a simple "Multi-kill!" or if you're really good, a "MEGA KILL!" Give me a good Flak Cannon or Minigun and I can mow down the opposition in an efficient, yet very painful, way.

I was speaking stirctly melee, but yes, Flak does own. I really need to get UT again.

i prefer melee weapons, guns (in reality) are to cheap, you just point and fire, melee weapons take skill and training

DizzyDi
Oct 17, 2007, 06:33 PM
Talon we've all been through this.
Tactics>Skill.

Using a gun is called being smart. And it takes a little more than just pointing and shooting. You have to account for kickback and a variety of other things.

Sord

being able to devise clever tactis is a skill though...

seriously though, yeah, it doesn't matter how good you are with a melee weapon, you'll still be one shot away from death. Also, while it's certainly easy to fire a gun, it's not as easy as people seem to think. Learning to fire properly, dealing with various degrees of kickback, keeping aim on your target while said kickback is moving it off (especially with automatics.) It doesn't reqire years of training to master like a melee weapon, but gun wielding does require some skill. Also, the more powerful your gun (or even just it's size), the stronger you phsically have to be, if you're gonna be lugging it arond and taking it's recoil. Big guns require training of the body in order to wield well.

no i'm pretty sure its just pointing and shooting, (used a rifle before with this method on target no problem) now bows on the other hand

rifle, wooho one type of gun. That's like saying you can swing a battle ready katana. It doesn't take any skill to swing and land a deadly blow. Killing an unarmed person with a sword is going to be just as easy as shooting the guy. And if you're gonna talk about weapon vs. weapon, then if anything a gun battle would be more dangerous, and you better have some skill if you hope to survive. This includes using your surroundings for cover and such. Not to mention, with melee, you can always just run away, high tail it out of there. Not so with guns.

I usually go hunting with my Father every November. It's hard as hell to walk around with a gun for 30 minutes getting to our stands in -5 degree weather (it's fucking cold in winter here).

My Dad has every type of gun you can imagine. Pistols, Shotguns, Semi Autos, an Uzi, Rifles, 50. Caliber, 22s, Ak47, sniper rifle thing, Musket. And more.

Pistols are harder to shoot with then they look.

my dad took me out hunting at a young age, from 6-9 years of age. After that I quit going because I didn't particularly care for the sport. Don't get me wrong, I have no qualms with shooting a deer, I freaking love venison, but I don't have the patience for the hunt. I did however enjoy going to shooting ranges. The first time I used a pistol, I nearly clocked myself in the head from recoil (think I was 8 then, not to strong XD.)

I haven't picked up a gun in a long time, and I don't know near as much about them as I used to. Actually, nowadays I know very little most of the time. I can't even remember how to clean a rifle, though I know I've done it several times. It's been a long time, but I still have a healthy respect for guns, since I grew up with them at a young age.
