Topic explains it all.

Truthfully, I believe the influx of entering players, right after a maintence check/update, will cause a massive server crash for several hours. DISPLEASEMENT SHALL RUN ACROSS EVERYONE'S FACE! MWAHAHAHAHA!

Why would it? I can't remember one during fire break, so I don't expect one for 1up cup either.

There's little reason for it to happen. Unlike certain GM events, there's no real reason for everyone to pile into one server all at once and bring it down.

Ah.......doubt it.

Yeah. I don't think it will happen, really. I know a lot of people who aren't even staying up till maintenance is finished, so...I don't think there will be a server overload or anything like that.

Then again...a part of me doesn't want to put it past ST >.>

Server crashes is why i play on empty servers with just my friends.

If the most filled universe like 01 or 02 crashes - then we on an empty server aren't affected. We dont loose the S rank, or our effort and time, or our fun and we LOL about it the next day when we read about it.

There aren't enough people playing PSU Stateside in order to crash servers.

THe only time I've seen it happen is when someone forced it to crash somehow.

The only times its ever crashed is when kitty ate it.

So unless she gets exceedingly hungry u all should be fine...

or at least everyone blamed it on kitty http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I don't remember any official source telling us as to WHY the servers crashed. I have my own speculations, but unless someone presents GM statements, I believe nothing.

I've seen a Universe crash during a GM event, where they instructed everyone to go to a certain universe. I recall seeing a picture from the PC/PS2 servers where a Universe was gone during Firebreak.

I don't know of any people "forcing it to crash."

The only one I personally know to be able to forcefully crash the servers was Alex (Er, sorry Bea), and he got banned after the second (or was it third?) time he crashed the servers during Sonic's Birthday party event.

EDIT: He also still owes me that Jao he stole from my room. >.>

yea in the GM event they forced it to crash because too many people moved to one server at once

GM's standby h4x LOL
If the server I'm in crashes, I shall pat myself on the back for a job well done (even if I didn't do it, it's better to steal credit for someone elses evil deed than to actually do it myself, makes me even eviler)

Seriously though, if it really does crash, I'll just move to a new universe, it's still party limit of 4 right, I think I could talk 3 friends into joining my party in a quiet universe.

*Cough.* Looks like pso-w lagged out a bit there.

Also, Pika: I don't know "how", hax I guess, he did a lot of things I couldn't really comprehend. He just mailed me saying he was going to do it, then it happened. The last time he did it I was with Sonic and tails on Parum, they just moved over there so there was only about 3 other people. We got to talking about Chilli dog eating contests, then the server bombed out.

Alex was very happy about killing the server when Sonic and Tails were on (That's why he kept doing it), I think he also made a topic here when it happened.

Nope. Any bugs with the event updates should have been flattened out during Famitsu in Japan, and besides, after an update/maintenance, the server should be more stable than it was before the maintenance, because anything that could have been wrong, would have been fixed. I say no.

People did force it crash, I know how they did it. They found a security hole, by modifying some of their own client's memory regions, then accessing a certain part of the class change counter, it caused the server to crash. They put it up on an.. *unnamed* forum, and told everyone capable of currently bypassing GG and accessing memory regions, to 'exploit' the exploit as much as possible until the server is either 1. screwed or 2. theyre all banned or 3. they patch it. (I believe 3 happened, followed by 2)
