The GameCube and XBOX versions will be better, as they will have Episode II. I don't think the XBOX version will have anything better than the GCN enough worthy enough to make you wait, so I'd just get the GCN version.
To make up your own damn mind, that is what better.

Get the Turbo-Grafx version, it's got netplay with a 9600 baud modem. MMM laggy.
Polls are retarded > Everyone
Considering the XBox version isn't even out, how can anyone seriously give an opinion?

Idea...well I have an idea about X-box... " " <-- aint it great. The truth is NOONE KNOWS. Not one of you can honestly say and have proof that the X-box will be better. How about we quit posting the same jibber jabber (Am holding myself not to cuss) about X-box PSO. Considering that there is not even a solid release date WHO WILL WAIT, And who are any of us to say that X-box will be better.
Thank you and that is my last steamed thought of 2002. Now I won't say thats the last for 2003. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Well, the Xbox version will have voice communication and possibly realtime Dolby Digital surround sound, so those're a few improvements over the GCN version. The harddrive could be used for patches, and the network is broadband only meaning betting pings and such. So, one could make an argument that the Xbox version will be better, but... it'd be a pretty lame argument.
Differences are so few between the two so far that it's down to personal preference and/or console fanboyism at this point. Episode 1&2 is Episode 1&2, and it's gonna be incredible, whether it's on a cube or a box. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Because Xboc has these features doesnt mean that sonic team is smart enough to USE them. Except I know that the voice chat is used even though at times that could be a bad thing...(Spy has proven this)

Just about every Xbox game uses realtime DD, and the fact that the GCN version uses Dolby Pro Logic II and uses it WELL gives me no reason to doubt that the Xbox version will support it.
Sonic Team aren't the slackers that a lot of people tend to speak of them as, remember. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif They're a little slower than most developers to get things done and put out games, but they're among the best of the best, no doubt. Anyone that says otherwise will get owned by an angry mob consisting of blue hedgehogs, 8 foot tall skinny men in purple tights, fire fighting anime heroes and little yellow birds of DOOM.

Pyuu. Stop it with these topics, already. And stop trying to pass judgement when one of the versions isn't even out yet. >.>

I'd like to be able to fairly tell you which one is better, but since Gamecube is the only one that's out on a console, I think I can safely say it's better than nothing.
PC Versions of games are generally not as good as console versions due to lag, memory issues, etc. =P

GC: Out now.
X-Box: Out later.
Patience has never been one of my strongest points, so it doesn't matter to me what little improvements the X-Box version will have, GC got here first, and that's all that matters.

You must consider a few things:
1) How important is communication in your PSO game? If you want to play the GCN version, you will have to either shell out over $60 for an import keyboard, or remain virtually mute. If you want to play the XBOX version, you will be able to use any USB keyboard AND/OR the voice communicator that comes with the XBOX Live starter kit.
2) If you have a BB connection, I *strongly* recommend that you wait for the XBOX version...if you only have dial-up, then you must get the GCN version.
3) Are you considering playing any other games online? The XBOX Live deal is best when one takes advantage of it and plays many games online. If you only want to play PSO, though, you may lean towards the GCN version.
4) How many characters do you want to have? If you want more than four, then you must shell out for more than one memory card, if you choose the GCN version. The XBOX version can save twelve characters without a single memory card.
5) How badly do you want to play this game? If you can't see yourself waiting another two to three months, then go ahead and enjoy the GCN version. If you can somehow hold out until vert late winter, you may want to consider waiting until the XBOX version comes out.
6) Are you dying to play with a certain group of people? If you really, really want to play with the people who are playing the GCN version, and will not be playing the XBOX version, then buy the GCN version. However, if you wish to play with those who are getting the XBOX version, then wait it out.
Of course, the best course of action is to buy the GCN version now, and then purchase the XBOX version in a couple of months. That way, you can play with *everyone*, and enjoy the advantages each version has over the other.

both are same?

Both are the same, yeah, but the Xbox version has all those other extras listed above. Voice chat, hard drive (which may or may not be utilized), possible Dolby Digital (I'm curious about this one), and possible slight graphical enhancements, although there's really been no word on that so I'm assuming it looks pretty damn similar to the DC and GCN versions.

Darn, Kalbelgarion beat me to it but I want to wait and see if he edits his post as to seeing that he has two "3's". One thing that Kalbelgarion did leave out however was the GamboyAdvance factor. I'm sure that everybody knows about the extra, let's say "stuff", that you can download onto the gameboy advance through GC PSO. If you have a GBA then I guess that that would be another reason, not a really big one, to have the GC verison. Personally, I really don't have anything against the gamecube verison of PSO, it's just that I thought that the way the online part of it was done poorly and it could've been done a whole lot better than in the state that it is currently in. If you can find a keyboard, broadband or dial-up adapter, and pay the hunter's lisence and you desperately want to play PSO now instead of waiting one month the the Xbox verison then be my guest. I would really have to listen to your brother though seeing as how the Xbox verison looks to have the better online play at the moment. With all that it has to offer it looks like the better choice. If you don't have broadband then stick with the GC verison. If you do have broadband then go up to your brother, give him a big hug, and tell him that you're sorry and take the GC back and preorder PSO from your nearest EB or http://www.ebworld.com (the release date is 2/25/03)! Make sure to go over this with your brother first before making a decision! (He seems like a wise guy)

i have the GCN version and I'm satisfied with it. thats all i can really say.
but i actually have another thing to say. with the Xbox Live you get the speaker head set, but do you really want little 9 year olds swearing every other word? i think not.

People generally mind their manners on XBOX Live. And, if they don't, it's very, very easy to simply mute offenders and never have to listen to that annoying person ever again. Futhermore, XBOX Live has a great "feedback" system for use against such people. You can report people for using crude language after you asked them to stop. If that person gets enough negative feedback, he may be banned for any length of time.
A major plus for the XBOX version of PSO is that it's run on XBOX Live, and takes advantage of all of XBOX Live's perks.
Oh, and thanks, Dragoon. I'll edit my post. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I can't argue with this, x version didn't come out, so I go with the gcn but voted for the x version, there isn't any keyboard out yet.
