Because of some stupid fucking program they use for testing Microsoft applications that if you dont do everything CLICK FOR FUCKING CLICK exactly as they ASSUME you're going to do, you fucking fail the question!

I've never even fucking failed a TEST before, let alone a midterm. Tell me, fellow college goers, am I completely fucked? Do I even have a chance in this class? I'm about ready to cry here.

Yeah, you're fucked.

Yeah dude you're boned. LOL NAW I'M JUST JOSHIN YA. I'm sure you're not doomed. Shit happens, you were bound to fail a test eventually. Best thing to do is just shed a tear or two then move on and see what you can do to rectify your mistake.

Yeah, what Dizzy said. Basically, even if you do end up getting totally owned and you fail the class, retaking stuff college isn't really that huge a deal--it happens to a lot of people, and it's even less scary if the class doesn't directly apply to your major. It can kind of suck if you fail one that is part of a sequence of classes and it sets you back a whole semester or something, but even then... *shrug* It's not terribly uncommon to go slightly over the "getting out of college in four years flat" societal expectation. I'm thinking I'll have to be here for at least five years. Maybe even a little longer, depending on whether or not I improve my scheduling skills, haha.

Also, if you absolutely can't imagine having to redo that class, it never hurts to email the professor and let them know what's going on. You can pretty much always get an appointment and make your case for why you did bad, and a lot of times they're more understanding than you'd think. Just play it by ear and don't get too freaked out about it. Screwing up your midterm isn't as bad as screwing up your final exam, after all!

Nah, there is nothing to worry about. Its just a midterm, you can always do better next time!

No, you're not fucked. Just make sure you do well on any remaining tests and the final. It doesn't really mean all that much anyway. After you get your first job, your GPA means jack.

id say ur not fucked YET. you can fix it, depending on how hard you try NOW. you usually cant change the past. (tried it, and came out with some minor electrical shocks, nothing to bad....and yet id advise not to do that.

but yea why not try what some of the others are saying.
In my school life so far, ive failed a test, not done a bit of work, and even gone down to a D-
it all depended on what I did AFTER those events happened.
I got myself all the way back up to a B- with minimal effort.

u can do it! =]

It actually depends on how much the midterm is worth, last year I failed a midterm and I did ok in the class, as long as you make it up it shouldn't be a big deal.

You need a 60 to pass a class. It may not transfer; but its still a "PASS"

It'll be alot harder to score a very high grade BUT it won't be impossible. Just strive to do harder/better/faster/stronger on the rest of the test/class.

If you have technichal issues with the class (as per how you failed this time.) Contact your professor see if you can come to an agreement.

Not for education majors, however. I'm not sure what your major is, though. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

This is what I'd do. Worst thing you can do about it is to sit and worry and berate yourself because of it - take action and see what you can do!

Sounds like "MyITLab". Shit is so poorly designed that what little you would learn from it is nullified by the sheer frustration of doing everything correct as asked, only to find out what they asked isn't what they wanted. Needless to say, my experiences so far with automated classes (online and otherwise) have been utter shit. What happened to the good days back when you would do your work on the computer then have the instructor check to see you've done it without having a computer telling you, "YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!" with no explanation?

IT FUCKING IS MY IT LAB.

Glad to know it isn't just me that's having problems with this shit. Good Lord, I know how to do it, but the roundabout scratch-your-ass way they ask you to do shit is impossible to follow.

If you have the same program that I got which you prolly do if it's not a few specific computer school in most cases you will have this crappy program that makes you DL a program onto you're compter that like 2GB and then you have to use internet explorer to go online and do the flash on their site...

That is one of the crappiest programs i have ever seen. It freezes at various locations, it expects you to do everything 100% correct and if you do one thing wrong it makes you start over regardless of whether or not you intentionally did something or are doing a quicker way of what they want. The professors I've talked to know it's utter crap and has all these problems so the best you can do is put up with it in most cases... the problem is that it punishes those who know what their doing.

I'm sorry scrub my only advise is the advice that everyone else have said already, however i'll like to say somethin

Any tests/quizzes/assignments that are done over the computer or onlnie suck. For my college algebra class we HAVE to use this site called "coursecompass.com" and do something called a "mymathlab" that is retarded. They ask the hardest ass question and cover stuff thats not covered in class...i hate it, I just wanna go to the professor and.....lemmme stop, i'm ranting now lol.

But good luck, work hard, and you'll be ok. I know how it feels when you fail something (and you've never failed anything before in your life)

Yep, "Introduction to Computers" class. Required for any sort of computers degree. MyITLab is a crock of shit. What's with schools using these shitty programs? Can they not get teachers anymore that can, well, teach? Instead we get a program that says, "Move the paragraph to..." when it really meant "Move the line to..." and even more wild offshoots.

EDIT: My personal favorite message to get: "That action has nothing to do with this task." Followed by one less chance at 'getting it right'.
