Duping is ruining GC PSO

Duping has gotten way out of hand on GC PSO, every single game i went into one day, ppl had some kind of lavis wep, a black king bar and other duped stuff. All of this is leading to what happened in Dreamcast PSO... there will be dupes everywhere, and there will no longer be such thing as trade. PSO will lose its fun from already having the best stuff and owning all the time... ppl will stop playing.. and then its just ruined. Accepting dupes just encourages hackers too..... next thing you know there will be PKing. I wish you would all lend a hand and not accept dupes, and infom those who have dupes. There were two HUmars in a game with me once, one had a dbl cannon, the other had a meteor crudgel. The were obviously duped since they claimed to 'find' them. I explained in a nice way what duping was, who does it, and how you can tell if something is duped. They realized what I was talking about, and turned around to sell those duped items! It is very nice to see that people dont like hackers, most ppl on pso just dont know what a dupe is period. I ask all of you to help stop this before pso is ruined. I dont know any other term to put it besides 'ruined'. I dont mean to offend anyone here either. Thanks - Legolas

Well... Duping is not ruining anything, before I continue I don't know how to dupe, and I don't dupe BUT I've had several people given me rares that are probably dupes and you know what? I don't care if they are dupes or not, I play to have fun not to worry if I have a duped items or not, IMO the only thing that ruins a game is when some one does something bad to your character like PKing and stuff like that.
Anyways, I've never had any problems with hackers, probably because most of the times if not all of the time I play with friends, and thats what you should do if it pisses you so much to see dupes.

The point is, I do not own all of the rares available in the game, nor does dupers. So probably you get 2 oe 5 dupes, you still have lots of things to discover and you can still play with friends, if you have no friends to play with then I would be really sorry for you.

Also like I play with friends too, if I could dupe and I was a force and I had a double saber, and my other friend was a force too it would be great if we could dupe it and both have it and enjoy the game (Note: I'm a happy ranger).

BTW my point is still that the game is supposed to be played for fun... rares or PHAT L3WTS are not essential part of the game. Atleast not for me.

hmmmmmmmm...... yes I understand what ure saying, but Im irritated at the people who have a bunch of dupes and go around thinking they are all cool with dupes, and then ruin your game by hopping exp and just being a jerk.

How are you supposed to determine whether something is duped or not? If it were a dark bridge or something I could easily guess but is there any other way?

I for one don't worry about duping as much as others, I know it's wrong but there is no way it will be stopped. I hate to say it but it is quite impossible without somehow removing the ability in the first place. There will always be dupers and always be people who find some weapon they know nothing about/how to get it naturally. I know duping is wrong but there is not much I or anyone else can do about it.

Oh and the only dupe I have is a mag because I was raising a mag so i could use my Heart of Angel i found from a santa rappy on and i got FSOD when I changed lobbies so I just asked my friend for one of his duped mags and used the LEGIT Heart of Angel on it..lol , anything wrong with that?

well ok I guess I got carried away at the first post, yea u guys are right.

But u can tell if something is duped by looking at %s. Like most duped lavis items have 20% native. Duped Heaven Punishers have 35% dark. Stuff like that

Dupes are part of the problem; but not the main problem. The problem is that people who do accept dupes think they have to show their items in an excessive manner.

The weapons/power isnt the problem--but rather how these people use them. They feel they must kill EVERYTHING before anyone can even get a hit in, all because they want to prove a point--and the honest point is this...

(in normal voice): I, personally, haven't gotten online yet. But the fact that there are people duping photon drops makes me question the legitimentcy of anyone who buys photon drops from other people. I know my 2 aren't. I got one with my HUcast and one with my RAmar that I transfered to my HUcast. Soon, when I get on, I shall exchange my 2 photon drops, 1 by 1, for AddSlots. Which people may also be duping. I don't know.
The duping of non-equipment worries me. Before you know it, we'll have Chao MAGs everywhere, because everyone had a Heart of Chao, or Chao Kit, or whatever it's called! And I delt with Omochao enough in SA2 and SA2B! I don't need a trio of Hunters with me that have Omochao as a MAG! Me and Kama wouldn't be able to take it! It'd drive us batty! I'm so scared.
*recieves a slap across the face* Thanks. I needed that. Maybe as a Pinkal (which sucks for a HUcast), I'll find a rare cane. It won't have high percentages. I'll sell it to a nice force. And because of it's low %s, if he/she was a duper, (s)he wouldn't dupe it.
And if that person is called a duper, I'll take on Dark Falz with my current stats.

Why would anyone dupe an item? Isn't half the fun trying to find rare items? i can see why you would be mad at sommeone who clears a room w/o letting anyone else get a shot off, i would be too. Much of the PSO community whines about dupes. I don't see the point. Dupers don't steal stuff from me, they don't PK you, they aren't directly effecting you in any way. They're just people who are too impatient to wait for rares to drop.

As stated earlier the people who ruin the fun in this game are ones who rush into a room and slaughter everything before you get a chance to kill anything. This has nothing to do with dupes. Someone with 100% legit weapons can (and on accasion do) do this kind of thing. Duping doesn't matter. Duping isn't ruining PSO. People who don't know how to play nice with others and share some of the glory are the ones ruining the fun. If you want to kill eveything yourself, stay in 1 player.
