New Years Decor?

Anyone know if the new years decorations are going to be like the current decorations in the JP lobbies? If so, that is a really half assed piece of work...

Most likely they will be identical...lmao I can just imagine USA players looking at that lobby decoration and go "WTF is THAT?"

So far, me and a few other PSO players have tried to figure out what that new THING in lobby is, our guesses ranging from a good luck fan with ribbon, a piece of sushi on a bed of seaweed, or a giant pink scallop. We have now dubbed New Years on PSO "Happy Pink Scallop Day" and have made new chat symbols and shortcuts to commemorate this confusing event.

Agh, the first time I saw that lobby I busted out laughing. I think that thing is a bunch of tall grass with a ribbon tied around it. But..why??

And don't even get me started on the music. It reminds me of monkeys because of that one Simpsons episode...

Maybe for Valentine's Day there will be a pile of garbage with a candy cane on it while "The Funky Chicken" plays in the background.

Those things you see in the lobby are called Kadomatsu. They are made up of pine, bamboo & plum blossom and are placed at the entrance to a house to ward off evil and improve one's strength and fertility.

Given the distinct Japanese nature of the decoration, I would not expect it to be ported to the U.S. servers.

So, what, the US get nothing? That's pretty f'd up, seeing as how we pay almost 3 times as much for a stupid license, and get no quests, or a stupid holiday theme? I bet ST will release the winback/endless/mop-up quests(that were on v1/2 forEVER) month by month, or every 2-4 months, to try and hold true to their "frequent quest uploads" BS service for us.

Oh MAN, did I get a good laugh the other night out of those creepy lobbies. The... monolithic hay tower with a ribbon/scallop tied to it... WOW. No better way to confuse/frighten us ignorant Westerners who automatically hate and fear anything from another country. And that background music is the PERFECT thing to give me the CREEPS in those servers now.

I'm sure it makes a little sense to Japanese players, of course. But... with that music...? I dunno, man. I just might be frightened if I were Japanese, as well. Sonic Team ROCKS.

And you guys are right, the music only adds to the hilarity. When i hear music like that, I expect to worship a big black monolith, not a giant pink good luck scallop of fertility. XD
