Nope. The synthesis has to begin with the increase in effect.

Whether or not you succeed in a synthesis is decided when you start it, not when it finishes.

Generally when you don't pull it out all the way, synthesis succeeds.

But as another poster said, synthesis success is decided as soon as it starts. Hoping after the fact won't do anything.
