Okay so one of my friends is obsessed with finding crea doubles, to the extreme as in no sleeping whatsoever. Anyways, I think his obsession has gone to far, when I wake up and see a message saying the crea doubles are a lie repeated seeveral times, and a picture of a crazed guy with phantasy star, I think that is something that has just gone wrong. Anyways, have any of you been scared by your friends obsession or are you the one obsession?

ONE of my friends did this same thing - an entire month of solo looking for HALP SERAFI RAPPIES. I mean he wouldnt party with any of us, we would join him but we had other party commitments at the time so we left him to his frustration XD

I felt bad. I really wanted out of all of us to have him find those damn halp serafi knife.

Well the weeks passed and those stupid rappies were so elusive he got them like once or twice a day. Hours of start abandon start abandon and it would be weird for us cause we'd just sit in his party outside linear line just chatting till we heard "RAPPIES" and we'd show up only to be disappointed XD

Yah internet addiction is real. Take me;

630pm PST - play PSU constantly with all the 930PM EST friends. Change parties frequently.
12~2am PST - get really tired and sleep.
330am PST - get up to help east coast friends b4 their school at 630~730am.
430am PST - sleep for my own work.
800am pst - ...sneak in one or two 1cup runs with my alts for easy random party exp.
130PM pst - ...rush home for free lunch and one 1cup run with my friends who might be just getting home from school EST.
230pm pst to 600pm - Read PSO-world while at work, wheel and deal items, post my thoughts, and think about organizing a team to hunt for the night via email >_>

funny part was I did a run with a friend to try for crea doubles. She was saying she wanted 6 of them so she could get every element, I was like, lmao good luck! First enemy dropped a crea doubles board. It was quite funny

another time I predicted who would get what weapon boards and in what ordered. The person I picked first got the board I said he'd get too, we all laughed of course, but sadly my other predictions were wrong.

Well...not really...personally, I've never had a PSU obsession. I may have played the game since literally Day 1 (I had to buy a fucking DVD drive just to play it) but I've never been obsessed.

Obsession can be rather awkward, really. It's nice to see that someone is so dedicated towards something, but at the same time, it's a simple principle of, "If you intake too much of this, it is bad for your health".

It's all about balance. It's fine to be obsessed with something to a certain degree. I'm sure we all are obsessed with SOMETHING. As long as you are able to control yourself, it's alright.

I remember before the 1UP Cup was here, I was pretty much obsessed with reaching level 100 before AOI. That was my goal. It was nice to be so dedicated towards doing something, but..I was almost overwhelmed by my obsession.

I reached level 86, then I literally HAD to take a break from the game. Due to my obsession, I was skipping meals, losing sleep, not making contact with friends online or on the phone as often, and it really messed with my head. I would play for 8+ hours a day, sitting on my couch in that saaaaame spot..the whole..time...

So yeah, I took a break from the game for about a week and came back for the Cup and I felt fine afterwards, because I limited myself to how often I would play and such.

I think you might need to have a talk with your friend and straighten things out before it's too late. He COULD end up pushing himself away from the game at some point and not enjoy himself anymore, because he's too focused on that one item when there are TONS of things in the game.

Anyway, so..it's not good for his health, physically or mentally and if something isn't done about this soon, your friend may not be playing PSU for much longer.

I've known a few souls to be obsessed with finding a certain s-rank, but none to the extreme of not getting any sleep or whatever. It does get tiring to play with someone like that, but I guess experience is experience in my case. Plus, if you care about them, at least you get to spend time with them.

Theres lots of chubby, old, ugly guys in their mum's basements that dedicate their lives to PSU. I know a handful of players who play for hours. Its pretty sad actually. Yeah they have the shiney yellow colours, but what do you do when PSU ends?
